Select Trac/COmmand Trac what is what??????????

Buddy just bought a 90 XJ. It has a switch on the right of the steering wheel where it says Power and Comfort. Just need a bit of insight on what kind of transfer case he has (I assume NP231). Also, what does he have.... Command or Select Trac. Someone just gimme the complete low down on these options and what the difference is...... Please explain.....

the power is for towing/fast driving -- it lengthens gears so that they top out at around 4 grand... normal saves gas and has regular shift points....

the only way to tell just by looking if he has either command or select-trac is by looking at the 4x4 shifter does it say....

select-trac seems better in all aspects to me and i wish i had it but whatever!
