I need to replace the clutch/pressure plate/ throwout bearing on my 68 Scout. I have the T90 3 spd and a 266. My question is: Do I need to remove the shift levers (transmission & transfer case before I remove the tranny? If so, do I need to remove the top plate on the transmission where the shift lever is located? Anyone who has done this repair and can give me some advice please let me know. Thanks Kerry

All you have to do is remove the access panel inside the truck. This is also where the transmission will be coming out. I unbolted the transmission and transverse from the bellhousing then took them out as one. Then removing the bellhousing to get to the clutch etc. NOTE leave the crossmember in, it helps with the removal. I did have to adjust height of the motor and trans with a jack for the removal and installation. You'll have to support the motor anyway. Hope that helps.
