Scott - Re: Can\'t start my engine - I6/258, Weber, stock dist/coil

I didn't use the high pressure on the hose to wash the engine. I was only spraying on some de-greaser under low pressure, and thought I'd better start it before I screwed something up. Too late! It wouldn't start. I didn't get the dist. wet, but may have wet the coil. Would the coil fry if it is wet? As I said, the engine turns, almost freely, with no apparent spark. I'll have to test the spark at the coil and plugs tonight.

Doug,
Sent an email to you. the coil shouldn't fry if it gets wet, unless maybe it was cracked, and some water got in it. I just assumed it was the high-pressure wand-type car wash I use.

Supposedly you can check the coil with an ohm meter to see if it's fried. ...sorry, we are approaching my limits of electrical knowledge. :|

Good luck
