I know . I had to do the same thing back in 85 . I bought a CJ5 in 1980 ( it was a 77) . Man , I think of that Jeep now and how perfect it was . I didnt know about how rusty it would become one day . It was black and I bought it off of a machinist and he had all these cool things that he built for it . I HATED myself the day that nice young couple came to pick up MY CJ . I`ll tell ya , that thing was a babe magnet . I remember having these 2 big stereo speakers mounted in the back ( house speakers) , LOUD !And getting that thing so badly stuck by myself one time , I had to walk down this mountain at night and leave the Jeep behind . YES I KNOW , dont go wheelin by yourself . Hey...I was young . These are the good memories !
The bad one :
It was my only transportation , so on COLD winter mornings when I went out to jump in and go off to work , I remember pushing all the snow away that was INSIDE the Jeep . When the wind is blowing at 5 AM in the middle of winter and you have to push a bunch of snow off your seat and then warm up your 304 , it aint nice mister. Well ... that was the only bad thing /wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif . I ended up getting a new job that involved a LONG drive so it was impractical for me to keep it any longer. It NEVER got out of my system . Oh , ah , er hey I`m back in the present , gee thanks for letting ME tell my little story . Anyone else have a " I HAD to sell my Jeep story" they want to share ? Come on CJDave , MattM38 , some of you guys must have some tales to tell .
PS . I now own AGAIN , an old rusted out 79 that I am busting my a$$ over right now . And YOU WILL get another one , dont fret . Once a Jeep is in your blood brother , its there for good .
