/wwwthreads_images/icons/tongue.gif After getting some cyberhelp from absolutejeep I sent the thread of the problem Wooders had to Rosser's e-mailbox. I just got a reply back. They recognized the problem was their fault and are "on it". The parts were held up at the PO in Australia, don't ask me why...anyway they are in contact with Wooders. Having a world-wide BBS is a real liability for a vendor if he screws up repeatedly. Just one disatisfied customer can potentially cancel out a lot of expensive advertising.

Last time I got one of their catalogs there at least was a certificate for your money back if you bought something.

The certificate for the price of the catalog is a good idea. It still should not cost anything outof pocet up front to have a companies catalog in your house. I get a few free catalogs because they are FREE. Then when I need something, I pick up the catalog I have layin' around and order parts. All the companies that charge for their catalogs should take note of this. If I (and many others) have to buy their catalog, it wont be here to order from. Us Jeep guys spend way too much money for a comany not to be in our homes in the form of a catalog. Just my $.02

In '97, I spent well over a grand with Rosser at one shot. When I got the merchandise (timely and correct), no catalog enclosed. Haven't heard from them since. Nor have I ordered from them, largely because their catalog wasn't on my desk for comparison. Wouldn't you think that they would want to put their catalog into the hands of the people that they KNOW are going to buy?? I can see a nominal charge for people who haven't patronized them before (nominal, not $7), but for previous customers? Especially from a group like Jeepers who display suchunreasonable levels of Brand Loyalty that it carries over to aftermarket suppliers. Did I sleep through Marketing class? Or did they?

no kidding... my wifes work gave me a $100.00 gift certificate to Rosser, and you have to actually send the gift-certificate back to them (archaic, I know!)...

Anyways, the cert told me to choose my gift from the enclosed catalog. Well, guess what! there was NO catalog. What is the deal? I'll not order from them without a FREE catalog!

Well yep today I get my diff install kit so I'm happy. I'll overlook the extra cost, delays & even the 4wd trip...I'm just soooo happy that I will be able to get my new gears fitted & regain 4wd - just not until 4th Jan....but that's passing quickly :)

Anyways thanks to everyone esp CJDave appreciate the help. Oh yeah I'll give Rosser another chance...they did try hard to redeem themselves, & I appreciate Kim's efforts.

Cheers

/wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif If there is one thing I have learned while working for equipment mgf companies, it is this: "It isn't what goes wrong; it's how you deal with it." That is about as true as anything you could possibly think of./wwwthreads_images/icons/crazy.gif

i think a lot of the time these companies forget that they are selling things we want not what we need. this makes them part of the purchase, a feature of the product. this also applies after the sale as well. when you have a problem with a product, the place you purchased it from should be able to come up with a better phrase than "sorry you need to call _______ for that". how hard is it for them to call for you and make sure that you are taken care of? that is the sign of a company worth giving your hard earned $$$$.

Im not buying from them again. I've got myself worked up over this catalog thing. Hell, I have 4WDH catalogs at all over the place.... at work, in the garage, in my Jeep. I have given them to friends, to neighbors and even a complete stranger one time.

I'ts my duty as an American consumer to reward that type of thing. You scratch my back and I'll scratch yours.

Re: Rosser responds!! Hey Wooders...

Hey Wooders, now how you go back to all the freakin boards you bashed Rosser on and tell the "rest of the story".

I swear, I saw you slam them all over the web - a little too much wouldn't you say?

Don't leave posts like that - you know, you titled them all "Rosser Sucks" - all over different BBS's without posting back saying the problem has been handled.

If you were late shipping me something, You would want me to tell the rest of the story once it was settled, right? Do the right thing man...
