well, another week has come and gone and i am still waiting for RRO to send my spare tire carrier.it has been 3 months since i ordered it and i finily received it.of course it wasn't what i ordered,so i had to wait even longer to get the right one.now i have the right one but......its missing most of the frickin hardware.i could have built the sh*t myself if i knew it was going to take this long.
it seems like every time i order something from these fawkers(and between my father and i,we've ordered alot of stuff),its either on back order,or it shows up several months later.i plan on driving and wheeling in samurais till im to old to do it anymore and i have said this before but this time i really mean it, I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER PRODUCT FROM THESE JACKASSES AS LONG AS I LIVE. when i order from Trail Tough i get what i ordered in a couple days, when i order from North Coast i get what i ordered in a couple days.every other vendor i buy stuff from is able to deliver there product, but for some reason RRO cant seem to get there sh*t straight.

my reason for this post is because i know Glenn Wakefeild reads this board and all the other boards im going to post it on,not to mention all of you fellow zukers.so take my warning everybody,if you want to buy parts for your zuk, your better off placing your order with someone who knows how to keep there customers satisfied.these companies are as follows:
www.spidertrax.com
www.trailtough.com
www.northcoastoffroad.com
www.zukisouth.com
www.calmini.com

any vendor that i forgot to mention,i apologize

howdy,

i think the problem is not glenn , it's the idiots answering the phone and taking orders. when i plopped down my first really BIG order it took months to get some of it. it took about 6 months total to get everything. there are a few things that i want to get from them but when i order......it will be about 2 months in advance.

glenn is a good guy but it seems like he is trying to put out more than he can. oh well....just remember to order your stuff in advance when you order from them.

good products though.

I got burned by RRO twice. Ordered a "budget" 3" lift kit that came with the wrong bushings, and steel sleeves that were too long to fit in the shackles, and Doetsch-Tech front shocks that were OEM length (too short). Then I decided to buy 2" backspaced wheels from them, and had to wait over 4 months to get them AFTER my credit card was billed. Never again!

I had the same problem with the Doetsch-Tech shocks. They sent me stock length ones. They made right on the shocks in the end but it was just the trouble of having to wait an extra week to get the right ones in and package the wrong ones back up to be sent back to them.

On another order from them a part I ordered wasnt in stock and they neglected to tell me till the order came in and I called wondering where it was....had to wait a couple weeks for the second part of the order.

I am not going to say I will not ever buy from them again, they have alot of great products. I just think they need to look over the way they take orders. Dont sell somebody something without first going over their order and telling them what they have instock and what is not. I could have ordered from another vendor and had everything at the time I needed it instead of waiting and wondering what the hell is going on with my order.

Not flaming on you RRO. Glenn has emailed me with answers to questions I have had and has been very friendly and helpful.....Just please pass your friendliness and helfulness to your employees

I gota wander????????? Just how many post's will it take for people to figger out that RRO is not the best place to order parts from.
Do the people who buy from RRO think the rest of us who post bad things about RRO Don't know what we r talking about????????????
If u order from them yr askin fer trubble!
When i first got in to zuk's a friend of mine told me
AVOID RRO AT ALL COST!!!!!!!!
I think it's good advice.

OK, I have ordered many parts fron RRO, Back when I started to build my zuk there where not many places to go. Yes I had to wait longer....sometimes a lot longer to get my stuff, but when I got it it was well built and hasn't broke yet. to make a long story short, I hear a lot of grief about customer service, and nothing about product failure on the trail. I'll continue to support RRO's products until they prove unworthy on the trail.

The old adage
"screw me once, shame on you,
screw me twice, shame on me" certainly applies here.

Glen has been good about answering my questions by email,
and RRO hasn't played those games with me - yet.

But this isn't the first time the problem has been posted
here, so it's obviously Glen "likes it like that."

Glen - you see what the problem is - it's up to you to fix
it if you want to continue doing business with the people
on this board - and with anyone else for the second time.

Charging to a credit card and NOT shipping, or only partially
shipping the order but charging the entire amount, or shipping t
he wrong part, whether intentionally or accidentally is
bordering on fraud.

You can see from these posts, and other posts in the past,
these aren't isolated instances.

Even if it takes firing all your staff, you need to do it to
stay in business - IF you really want to stay in business.

Whoever it is on your staff that's creating the problem of
not being honest with your customers probably isn't honest
with you either.

Are you in control of your business or is your business in
control of you?

The ball's in your court now -

Here's my take on it.

I don't think Glenn really cares about the problem. Business must be good and a couple of unsatisfied customers isn't a big deal. After all, like my dad use to say, "they'd kick if they were playing football....". I also think he views this BBS as forum for those few to vent their issues and try to make his name and RRO go down the tubes. It'll probably never happen as I assume the majority of Zuk owners that buy from him don't even know about our little BBS or have yet to discover it and learn about his track record (according to those who have had bad service).
Who knows, maybe bad press is better than no press in his eyes. Besides, he doesn't only depend on Zuk stuff to make a living anyway!!!
In the end I'll assume he can afford to lose some customers because there'll be others that don't know any better.....
They say that the way employees work is a reflection of the way the man on top does his job....I hope this is not true in Glenn's case.....

My two Canadian cents

Just a note

For those of you who are wondering why Glenn hasn't posted here, it's because he can't anymore. He gets an error everytime he tries. He has tried to fix this through the moderators but has had no luck. So don't expect him to jump in here and defend himself. He can't.

[/ QUOTE ]

Just a thought.....I've never ordered anything from RRO as of yet, actually used to say I would never due to things I've heard and read but Glenn coming through and answering a question I had that was stumping me has softened that stance a bit. Anyway...if Glenn wants to email a response for the board to me I would be happy to post for him since I am rather a impartial party at this point.

I've never ordered anything from RRO and based on the consistency of complaints about the shoddy business practices I read about here, I am not going to try, either. Even when Glenn has been around to defend himself, his defenses are pretty weak and don't sound like someone concerned with customer service. I liken it to an Ebay seller with lots of negatives. They have proven themselves not to be worthy of my business.

I run a business and I know I have to deliver (literally) when I say I am going to and do exactly what I promise because people are counting on me to do it. If I didn't do it, I wouldn't expect to get paid, wouldn't expect to keep the customers I have now and certainly wouldn't expect anyone else to hire me, even if I was nice in person, in email or on the phone.

Bottom line: if someone orders Samurai parts from a vendor, they should be told if they are in stock and available at that time or not, if not, then when they will be available. And that's a genuine estimate with a legitimate reason, not a lie to placate the customer. Nothing should be billed until it is shipped. Period. And if the wrong stuff gets shipped, it should be returned to the company wholly at the expense of the vendor, who should then make the order right with accelerated shipping to make reparations for their own stupid mistake.

IMHO, that's what good service is about. Anything less doesn't deserve my business.

Glenn defend himself???

That's a joke, right?

Glenn has BEEN DOING NOTHING BUT defending himself for YEARS, regarding this very problem. In my estimation, if these problems still persist, nobody should do business with him, he obviously doesn't care about us as customers. He's had PLENTY of time to correct the problems, yet they still persist.

All I've heard so far is excuse this, excuse that, and how great his products are. Well, if they don't come in on time and the Zuk is down, they aren't much good are they.

I'll second TrailTough, he's cheap, great products, and FAST! Same thing with NCO, both are great and will get my business.

howdy,
shoot with my first sammi i knew nothing about this board or vendors outside of faben j**p parts to fit my sammi. then i bought my second sammi and about 3 monthes latter got a computer. then i began to get some knowledge. mt first order was a RRO 5.5" weld on spoa lift, with shockes, rear lower shock mounts, front lower shock mounts, rear upper shock mount, front ford shock mounts, z-link, driveshaft spacers, and it only took 8monthes to get it. i did not like the fact that it took so long. but i wanted these parts. i had to wait becuase of the z-link. but i have never had a problem with their product except for the fact that the welded on pieces of their rear spring to front brackets broke the welds. glenn is a great guy, he is very helpful and is always ready to help. it just takes time i guess. it's like cards, some times you win and some times you get your a$$ handed to you in a paper bag.

I've ordered only one thing from RRO a couple years ago and recieved it in two days.

But AllPro on the other hand is on my sh!t list for sure. I have placed a few orders with them and everytime something is back ordered. My last order was a steering stablizer from them and after 1 1/2 mos. I finally called them up and canceled my order, they said they were waiting onthe ubolt bracket. I don't know but it shouldn't take a month to round up some ubolt brackets. Plus they are kinda rude. When I did my yota conversion I needed the works: gears, lockers, hy-steer, install kits, ubolt flip, wheel bearings, etc. And they would not match prices or give any kinda break in the price. Oh well there loss, I could have placed a big fawken order with them but instead I just ordered what I need to from them and got the rest at other places. Heck, I wouldn't have even got there hy steer if I knew that I could have got it a little cheaper through Sky Mfg, plus Sky's arms are a little better imo.

Lockrite locker came in 4 days cross country.
No problems, guy on the phone was courdious (granted, I had a super duper easy/simple in/out order of stuff they had instock, and asked for a tracking number

).
Hmph.. I have .02 but I will not add it.
Hope everything gets resolved quickly.
Cheers.

I really hope RRO can get it together, and doesn't have the
attitude that they don't need repeat business.
They are one of the few that have Tracker stuff.
My experiences with them have been good, but I'm leary now.

It's not easy to compile a list of businesses that have an
attitude that they don't need customers for repeat business.
It has to be done by memory since they went broke and no
longer exist.

Ive spoken to Glenn on a couple of occasions and his technical knowledge it great. The fact is that RRO may carry other products for other vehicles but ZUKI's are his bread and butter. I dont order stuff from them cause everytime ive tried in the past they dont have it in stock.
The only thing that I have purchased from them was my rancho 1.5 leaf springs. They were shrink wrapped and when ups delivered them to me they looked like they had the living Sh*T beaten out of em. Chipped, scratched, just plain old beat up. I understand that they wiegh a lot but a year later and my springs are rusted. Anyway, time to get it together RRO. RRO brags that they put the most effort into reaserch and development, and that they are on the cutting edge for zukis, but if you cant make us happy, all the other stuff doesnt matter. You can have the best products but you better start answering phones Glenn and get rid of some of those cronies that work for you. Im sure you could hire some poeple from this bbs. Some of the poeple here might have a little more pride in taking care of thier fellow zukers.
