Ride to the \'Melt if I fly to a nearby airport??
For various reasons I had decided to not attend Zookimelt this year. It's a 21 hour drive one way and although that isn't that bad, I just don't have time to sit in the truck driving. And I'm not one to "push on through". When I get tired I stop and sleep, so this makes it at least a two-day trip there and two back.
But I had so much fun when I went three years ago that I really want to go back. I don't even care if my Zuk is there or if I drive any trails. Just want to go for the people and the fun.
That being said, is there any way I could fly into a local airport and hitch a ride to the event? My first choice is Chicago/O'hare - flights are reasonably priced because it's a high-destination hub airport. I already have Murph and Rockrat putting the feelers out for me. Anyone else in this vicinity?
Or are there other destinations which might work? I'm trying to minimize my time away from work so the less road travel the better.
I'm a really nice guy and easy to get along with. I really really am. And they won't let me carry weapons across the border so you don't have to worry about that.
Thanks all for your considerations.
