Just wanted to let you know what I have found over the past couple months as I have researched replacement shackles for the Jeepster with the 1 3/4 wide front springs...
I sent for "stock" replacement shackles for the 55-75 CJ with ross steering and 1 3/4 wide springs, but when I recieved them they were 1/4" too SHORT compared to my Jeepster shackles! I had been told that the CJ shackeles would work if I was willing to deal with the ADDED 3/4" in height. Saddly, that info was wrong. So far I have found no one that makes a stock replacement shackle the same size as the original.
Warrior Products does make a front and rear lift shackle for the Jeepster that adds 1" of lift. The front is WAR165 in grey, WAR365 in gold and the rear is WAR 164 in grey and WAR364 in gold. I plan on sending for those and will let you all know how they fit. Best of luck to all of you as you search the world over for "things that will fit your jeepster!"

Sorry! More bad news for those of us with the narrow front springs. I just called Warrior to double check the inside width of the front shackle and they told me it was "a rear wierd shackle measuring about 2 5/8." In other words, it's the shackle for the 2" spring! Bummer

I second this request. I spend many hours searching old posts, printing and writing down information, part numbers, etc. Finally, I ended up buying a notebook and dividing it up into "planned" upgrade sections. I've pasted in posts and part numbers, pictures of Jeepster/Commando mods. It's beginning to look like an evil scrapbook - I bet everyone has one of these, eh?

Lee had a great parts list/locator on his website that has been very helpful to me. Something in that type of format and expanded upon when new discoveries are made would rock!

Third for a data base. There is so much good stuff here, that I end up printing out the "best" posts and have a binder that is about 2" thick so far. PITA keeping them all organized by subject and I still have to look thru them.

Not sure about the lengths, but M.O.R.E. (www.mountainoffroad.com) has bitchen shackles that have greasable bolts. I think lengths are set but width you tell them what you want. I just ordered a bunch of stuff from there yesterday. I needed greasable bolts for my existing shackles and some new spring hangers for the rear. I ended up buying the greasable bolts for everwhere on the springs.

What were the spring widths on those? I see that the one you said was for the front on their website is a rear shackle kit. Between those two part numbers is one kit for 2" and one for 2.5"? Thanks

go to www.mountainoffroad.com click on the link that says catalog, then click greasable shackles (or lubeable cant remember) as you scroll down they have 4", 4.5'' etc, on the right you tell them the width and bushing size you want.
