Eating For Thanksgiving

Turkey Day-whatever mom wants to make. Probably be traditional though, turkey and gravey, potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce, etc. Mmmmmmmm.........it's good to be home./wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif

X-mas-not sure, I'll probably be spending it in an Air Force Barracks at Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas, so I can't really say what I want. Think I'm gonna ask moms and pops for help on getting my fiance's plane ticket here to the USA. $1600 or so is a lot of money!/wwwthreads_images/icons/crazy.gif Anything helps./wwwthreads_images/icons/tongue.gif

Re: Eating For Thanksgiving

I just want a 14 bolt/wwwthreads_images/icons/tongue.gif, then I'd be happy. It would also be nice if someone would put it in to. But that would take most the fun out of it.

A lift, wheels, tires, gears and a locker would be nice too/wwwthreads_images/icons/tongue.gif

Re: Eating For Thanksgiving

thanksgiving...turkey, all the fixins at the family get together...then go home and eat lots of deer. venison is soo oo good.
X-mas: cooper STTs anfd an alignment. already done.

BTW: got 2 deer a few mornigns ago. got one in the throat and out the shoulder, then got another right i nthe back of the head and out its nose as it ran away. neither one ran more than 5 yards. both shots were taken from 125yards with a ruger M77 markII 30-06 firing tephlon coated balistic tip rounds. don;t know why i need the teflon, but oh well. the guy that loads my rounds says that he does it so it slips through the hide with a smaller hole. doesn;t much matter with an 06 though. there's usually an exit wound. with the 223 there isn;t though. just thought I"d share.
both were does. one a yearling or so, the other a few years prolly. passed a big buck up. looked like about 10-12point through the scope. i just don;t liie the taste of big bucks.

Re: Eating For Thanksgiving

Nice to hear that some people pass the bucks up. Congrats on the deer. I think another reason for the teflon is it doesnt leave as much residue in the barrel of the gun as bullets with out teflon (I think).

Re: Eating For Thanksgiving

yup i suppose that makes sense about teh barrel. i clean mine like some sort of obsessive compulsive though so it doesn;t amtter much i guess.
yeah i don;'t havea problem passing the bucks up. i mean yeah it'd be cool to havea big old rack on the wall, but i don;t have my own house so i don;t have a wall to put it on. and i just don;t thin kthey taste as good. i don;t let them hang either. i skin and quarter them in the field, so if the meat isn;t tender it won;t ever be. from gun-shot to freezer in about 2 hours. so i gotts get em tender.

Re: Eating For Thanksgiving

For Christmas this year im asking Santa for a duel exhaust system for the truck.

A wierd tip (at least i thought that it was wierd):
When changing clutches the pilot bearing can be a b|tch. Find a wooden dowel or steel rod that fits snuggly into the hole where the pilot shaft rides. Fill the hole up with hard grease and then place the dowel in the hole and hit it with a hammer. The force will use the grease to drive out the bearing.

I totally agree with the theory of a bad starter and a BFH. While the total rebuild of my chevy is coming to a close i have been drining a '89 2wd f-150. The soliniod sticks about every other time i try to start it. A few wacks usually beats it in submission each time.

It will NEVER be "Done"

Re: Eating For Thanksgiving

i like the title "enthusiast" and would have preferred to keep it. oh well.

speaking of turkey.....does anybody like to stuff their's? if not, i'll do it. i enjoy it. most cooks don't and that's where i come in. cooks go crazy with my stuffing and will want me to come back next year. so anybody out there know of any needing to be stuffed let me know cuz i'm good at it.

Re: Eating For Thanksgiving

definately funny stuff. how about things we're thankful for? be they shallow deep or not evenunderstandable (frank).
I'm thankfull for my freedom, for my "wife" my family and friends. I"m thankful for animals as they taste yummy, for CSFI, for the BBC engine, for mister "K" and mister "N". I"m thankful for all of our men and women serving our country to defend the freedom that so many of us take for granted. I"m thankful foir the fine works of Sir Ron Baccardi and Senor Jose Cuervo. I"m also thankful for a house somewhere in canada. I'm thankful for Germany becasue they have good beer adn tehy grow nice young ladies.
And you know what, I'm thankful for being a member of this board. becasue you know what, ya'll have saved me quite a bit of sweat blood and profanity...which can better be used while driving my vehicle instead of wrenching on it.
Happy T-day everyone......even Monica /wwwthreads_images/icons/tongue.gif
