This goes out to anyone that changes their own tires. I have always gotten my tires changed at shop but decided that I could do it. I bought the tire changing spoons and got the the tire off (practically wrestling with it/wwwthreads_images/icons/mad.gif).I have to leave for work right now so I haven't had a chance to put on my new Dunlop D752./wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif Does anyone have any suggestions for making this process easier and without ruining the bead? Please help, I'll be at tommorrow morning and don't want to destroy my new tire..

lube the bead with like palmolive dish soap....it will slide on easier...and also take small bites each time.....too big of a bite and you will fight it hard!!!!

no problem...I never had the spoons...used the trusty old screwdrivers....but always managed to do it in fast time....

Soapy water helps, so does WD40. Also, if you lay the wheel on an old tire or a five gallon bucket, you won't be as likely to damage your brake disc or sprocket.

In addition to what the other guys said also make sure that the opposite bead is pushed down into the center of the rim. The rim has that indentation just for that purpose. It gives you that extra clearence to get the tire on.
Good Luck!!

Thanks all for the advice./wwwthreads_images/icons/wink.gif Put my new tire on today, took about a 1/2hr./wwwthreads_images/icons/laugh.gif It was so much easier with Pamolive, it practicaly slid on. I'll find out tonight if I pinched the tube, didn't hear any leaks so hopefully it'll be O.K.
Thanks again!
