Hey guys and hopefully some gals.... I know I ask alot of questions, but I'm new at this Jeep thing.... Anyways, my Jeep has a very annoying rattle under the hood on the passanger side, but it only starts at about 40 MPH.... I was on the ALLDATA site looking up TSB's and recalls on my Jeep and there is a TSB for underhood rattle, but no explanation. Anyone else have this problem? I can't find anything loose when I'm stopped? I have a '94 YJ Sahara 4.0L...

If you want to look up TSB's and recalls for your Jeep just goto www.alldata.com (you can get a list of them for free, or they make you pay for details /wwwthreads_images/icons/frown.gif)

/wwwthreads_images/icons/crazy.gif Steve,....I hope that this doesn't mean that you are trying to squeak by without double-clutching again! That rattle is indicative of a badly froobled framis;.....usually a sign of too much strain on the synchros in the gearbox./wwwthreads_images/icons/frown.gif

Hehehe.... I learned my lesson 'bout depending on the damn synchros (expensive little buggers)... As for my froobled framis, is that near the hankle wankle /wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif, or the hippie skippie /wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif? I know there are a thoudand things that could rattle under the hood, but I figured if there was a technical service bulletin out about 'under hood rattle' it must be a common prob. Maybe I'll just pay the $19.00 and get the detailed TSB and recall sheets of my Jeep (even though I'd rather spend $$ on my Jeep). I still need to RhinoLine it, and get one of those Tuffy Security Consoles with a spot for a cd player, and then build and overhead console for mounting switches for winch, lighting, and lockers (if I ever come into a couple of bucks I don't really need). But right now I need some SNOW TIRES... I hear 33" Thornbirds aren't too good on road snow....

/wwwthreads_images/icons/tongue.gif There is a poster to this board from Texas who invented a little overhead thingie that is perfect for the job, but I can't remember who it is. I maybe can think of it later. We will be buying some winter tires for the SNOJEEP too, as soon as it is finished. I bought Cooper Discoverers for the grand cherokee last year...it climbs like a cat in snow.
If I can remember who that was with the overhead I'll e-mail it to you. /wwwthreads_images/icons/wink.gif
