A freind of mine today found out about the " garantee"(sp) there isn't one. it only means that it is more puncture resistant to cuts than other tires. but for the sum of $215 cdn
they will gladly give him a new tire. no discount because he has one already, or the difference on depreciation.

the
Goodyear sales rep told him sorry there is no road hazard available for these tires because they are an offroad tire
. what a crock of sh!t. that is not what the tire dealer told my friend or me when we bought our tires.

if i had of known that i would have bought cheap tire and just had them vulcanized for 40 bucks if i cut one down instead of paying 1200 bucks for tires they have no intention of fixing or replacing.

Re: RANT...good year durawall garantee..(sorta lon

Hmm....somehow my son gets MTRs replaced with road hazard or something when they get cut...costs him $11 or so. I'll ask how he does it.

Different rules north of the border??

Sean, for what it's worth, I have a buddy who had the same problems with his BFG M/T's. The worst part is it was a manufacturer's defect that caused the tire to blow out and they still wouldn't honor any warranty because they claimed it was dammaged by what they called "hard" off-roading. It was a surprise to him because this was the second set of these tires he had run on his Dodge, the first set going over 75000 miles without any problems.

What's it say on the sidewall? "Puncture resistant technology" or something like that? I saw a stick about the size of a pencil or a little bigger go right through the sidewall of one of those tires.

They do seem to be pretty sticky though...

Thats why you buy the tires at a certain LARGE retail chain and get their road hazard, and when you have a problem bring it in to them, as long as you have their paperwork, that LARGE retail chain does the fix.

I have road hazard on my mtrs that covers any damage . It was 10% of the purchase price . I have yet to need the warranty , but when I buy expensive tires I buy roadhazard.
Sorry to hear about your troubles though ...

i will not purchase any tires from goodyear because their customer service SUX!!
i have had 2 stock vehicles with them and had ware problems the second set i was told on the ford expedtion the reason that they went bad at 24,000 miles yeap 24/k was because i did not have them rotated by my local goodyear store
i did purchase life time rotions from wally world and had all the paper work to prove it. so i cald the 800 no service number and because walmart does not sell the tires i have i have to go to the reatil store for warrintie (sp) problems. these tires the goodyear wrangler tires that are stock on the 2002 ford expedtion ...... here is the kicker......... do not i repeat do not HAVE AN EXPECTED MILAGE so out of the goodness of their heart the was going to let me have a set of 4 tires not for the normal 149.00 a tire but for the low price of 100.00 and i have to purchase them from the company store and i had to have a 4 wheel alinment first. well then the got pissed because i took it some where esle and paid nothing for the alinmint because it was good. it was a kodack moment. just pictu being in the middle of the showroom floor on sat. about 1 ish and i get all this news i as nice for about 5 sec. then i told the guy it would be a cold day in hell before i paid him 400.00 for piece of crap tires and if i had to buy tires i would get quality not crap! and if i ever bought nother car and it had goodyear tires on them i would make the dealer chage them before i purchased the vehicle
well i guess i'll get of my box now

Longzuk,

Sorry for the long delay. He has road hazard and "knows" someone at the tire shop I guess. (Nothing like inside help.) That doesn't help much though.
