HI EVERYBODY! THIS IS MY FIRST TIME USING THIS SITE! MAN, I WISH I WOULD HAVE FOUND THIS EARLIER!
I HAVE A 1999 FORD RANGER XLT. I WAS HOPING SOMEONE COULD TELL ME WHAT THE LARGEST SIZE TIRE I COULD PUT ON THIS TRUCK WITHOUT A LIFT KIT. I WAS ALSO WONDERING HOW MUCH OF A LIFT I WOULD HAVE TO GET TO PUT ON SOME MICKEY THOMPSON'S 19.5/46-16LT. I WANT TO PUT ON 30-33" TIRES. WILL THIS WORK? AND HOW MUCH WILL I HAVE TO DO TO MY TRUCK?
I AM DOING THIS FOR MY YOUNGER BROTHER. I JUST GOT BACK FROM IRAQ, AND WANT HIM TO HAVE A REALLY COOL TRUCK PASSED DOWN TO HIM BY BE! PLEASE HELP ME IF YOU CAN!
THANKS AGAGIN EVERYONE!

I just got back from Iraq myself. good to be home! I don't know much about rangers but I know that the tires would be 30-31 inchs with out lift for 33 you need 4-5 inchs. I have to run but will reply with more info later

Hi welcome to the board.
Two things one is that when you use capital letters it's harder on the eye's and means you're hollaring. And the other is that you should ask this queastion in the Ford Ranger section. Just go to the drop down window at the bottow of the page and go to the Ford section then the sub section for Ford Rangers. I'm sure the guys there could be of more help to you.

Howdy, check out www.TheRangerStation.com for Ranger stuff. The best source I've found for Ranger stuff.

You can definately 31x10.5R15's if it's 4x4. Some guys are fitting 32x11.5R15's with a little torsion bar twist. With the stock 16" rims you can clear 265/75R16's (32x10.5R16's basically) with no problems. Not sure if it's 2wd.

If you wanna clear a 46" tire you're going to need a totally custom suspension with at least 14" of lift because NOTHING of the stock suspension and axles is strong enough to run 35's, let alone something 16" taller and about 100lbs heavier than the stock tires.

Semper Fi, got out in November '01, just in time to miss all the "fun".
