Hi guys. My dad has decided to make his Ranger his offroad rig. I think mostly due to the two humongoid dents that he put in hi rocker and bed this last weekend while enjoying the great outdoors. What do you think would be the best route for gaining altitude for bigger tires. I thought I would ask here first. I know alot about the fullsize and was wondering what they offer for the smaller sizes. Your help would be apreciated. If you want just write down how you would go about building one up. Your help is apreciated. Thanx. NORM

Yah year is a biggy, cause a ttb front end raises different then the ifs front end, back ends are the same as on bigger trucks. Theres always teh good old fashioned heat the coil springs with the torch and stretch them in the vise. Although it isnt always the safest approach. Or even better jack it up and put hockey pucks in the coils.

Theres a lifted ranger near me, its got the ttb up front, and while the guy that lifted it butchered it, the kit is identical to your lift kit. Id slap a 4" kit on there, and get some meatier tires under it, somewhere around 32". That would look awesome!

Yah gonna be lifting my bronco 2 soon, im thinking of a 2 inch lift, and 31" tires on it, dont realy want to go much bigger, not like its gonna make inspection again. I plan on just regerstering it as a farm vehicle and beef it out for trail work. Plus electric shift [bleep] the bed so im gonna hook up a lever through the floor so i can shift from 4H to 4L screw the 2w once its registered as a farm vehicle.

Maybe you guys can help. I have thought about this and have come up with a solution but thought I'd see what you might think. I have a Ranger Lariat 1984. New big block 400 and all new under carriage. Body is shot but I have a new complete body ready to replace all the bad parts. The thing is the truck is already high from factory..I have 33's on it now with stock lift. After having investigated things...it seems to me that a little bit of both kinds of lift..ie body lift versus suspension lift might be used effectively. I want to put 38's maybe 40's under the truck but I also don't want the body lifted so much it looks stupid with the drive train so low. I don't want to get crazy with the height but I was thinking that if I just raised the suspension 2 inches so that I did not have to do too much to the existing systems like drive shafts and other such things that need changing and then do a body lift of say 2 to 3 inches that would give me a lift but yet not be too crazy with the supsension lift and then not make the body too dorky. Anyone got any ideas on lifting the ranger? Am I on the right track?
