ramsey pro9000 parts questions???

I got my used pro 9000 installed today which UPS broke during shipment (another story)......When I got it all hooked up it just "nudges" in reverse...thats it? Is the motor grounded out? Where do I hook the giant ground wire to and is this needed if I mount the whole unit to the frame??? Does the solenoid have to be grounded? I might just be missing something?
