Rally at the Capitol

From seeing the positive response to the Grim-Reapers post and the support to the rally in DC, I'm not sure who brought it up but it snowballed from what I posted last night (Nov 2), I will voluntare to help organize this. I know that jeep131 said in his post that he would help. I would like anybody in any clubs to bring this up to their club so that we can get more support. I also like utahjeepers idea of 50 smaller rallies in all the state capitols. This would be easier for people to attend. I think that one day every year would be great. I still think that it would be good to make it to DC, but I know that is difficult for alot of west coast guys. As for the toothless idiot getting interviewed all we would need to do is to keep them away and let the president of the club speak for the group. Also I think it would be a bad thing to have alcohol and guns at aany of these rallies. Please email me, or post any good ideas. I will try to get in contact with the blue ribbon coalition and the united four wheel drive association, and tread lightly if everbody is interested.

Skiers should be included too. check this out: http://www.skinet.com/magazines/ski/feature/99/431.html
Groups to include:all 4X4 owners, motorcycles, smowmobiles, hikers, campers, hunters, fishermen, boy scouts, cub scouts, girl scouts,skiers/snowboarders,boaters.
People to get to help fund this. ANYONE who sells/provides services to any of these groups.

I agree with you 100%. I'm in. I've already e-mailed our wonderful senators, boxer and feinstein. They, invariably, haven't replied to their constituant.

However, Buck Mckeon has, and is conservative, and has indicated that he "understands" our plight.

As a skiier, hiker, dirt-biker, jet-skier, off-roader, SUV owner, dog owner, cat owner, gun owner, (can I still even OWN a gun in CA?) ;o) I am in for this...
let me know when to drive to Sacramento.

Also: any local LA clubs that help clean up trails?

Good job e-mailing your congressmen. We will include everybody that we can into this group. We'll let people know when the rally is, but we will get the organization running first so we can get support from other organizations and so we can really get this organized (the rate that this is going it shouldn't be too long to get it up at this rate). Thanks for the support.

Both of these organizations have shown interest in our new group "Outdoor America". I still recomend that individuals contact their congressmen. Thanks for posting more info.

I'm not real creative, so no input on the logo or name. But, I just want to remind everyone to bring this to your club's attention, it seems to me the majority of the people that use this board are affiliated with some organization. We had some discussion last month at our club meeting concerning closures in our area, so I can be reasonably certain the Rock Garden 4 Wheelers will be interested on Tues.

Thanks, I will do that, and I think I switched it around, I think that it was suposed to be Outdoor America, not American Outdoors, ooops, easily fixed...

Thanks,
I'll fix it and repost the new one...

Good start for the logo. I'm working on one that is alot more complicated, so we'll go with your's for now (I suck at drawing, so it takes a while for me to make something good).

Thats ok Tim, I understand the frustration, lol... here are 1 more w/ a little red, not quite sure how to add more w/o complicating it, and I was trying to keep it less complicated.... and then there's one w/ out the red but w/ the corrected name

Not to complain...but could you make the logo with a clear background (instead of white) This would make it more attractive for everyone to post on their web sites! Cool logo though. Very simple yet bold.

Mike that is a good tought about the clear background. Peter do you have a rough estimate of when you will have the web site up. I have been e-mails asking about this. You can e-mail me or post the info. Thanks again for working on this.

I like where this is going, definitely. Like you said, most people are affiliated with an organization. this may be a little off topic, but does anyone know of some good Jeep clubs around the Milwaukee, WI area? Its a great way to get your opinion heard

Alright folks, I took Peter's idea for a logo and expanded on it. Tim, I got your e-mail about what you think for the logo, but I had already finished this, so...

The background is transparent.

By the way, I have a very good friend in the "sticker business". I can probably get together a method for getting the logo printed and mailed out once we get it together. Would you guys be interested in that?

Due to the great interest in this topic we will be combining the two posts "Rally at the Capitol" and the "Grim-reaper" post into one post. The new post will be called "Outdoor America information". The reason for this is because it will be easier for everybody to know what is happening with the organization. There has been an expressed concerned to combine the two. Come on over to the new post. Thanks for all the interest.

I am from the Suzuki board and am behind you all the way. Also, I am a member of a Prospecting Group, and we too are affected by this "UN-Commi,Lock it off Administration"
