I'm sure this has probably been covered, but what is the best way to stop rain water from making it to the floor boards of a CJ7 (other than keeping it in a garage !).

I recently cleaned a bunch of leaves & pine needes out of the drain tube that goes from the vent on the hood and surprising that seemed to INCREASE the amount of water I get on the floorpans.

I thought there was a drain hole somewhere in the bottom of the heater box in the interior of the vehicle, but could not find one. Am I mistaken ? I think my water is coming in directly out of the bottom of the heater above the transmission hump, where the heater blows out of.

You'll probably have to take the heater out and carefully reseal everything with duck putty, including the joints where the pieces of the heater box go together.

There is no drain to the inside. The drain is a big tube, close to 2" diameter, that comes out of the firewall down a little from the battery box.

Or make sure the drain holes in the floor or open.

Look under the blower motor sticking through the firewall. That is the lower drain hole.

I had a leak at the top of the firewall where it meets the cowl. A little silicone is a good thing. Did Martha Stewart say that? Humm
