I'd say go for it if your not going to RESTORE your Scout to original Specs or Quality or if your like me and like to actually use it for it was meant for.
And i'm broke too which is a factor...
79' 304, 727, 33"s, 4" triangle, Straight Steer, custum rear bumper and skid plate, soon to be a 392V8 with 4.10's and a 8000# Warn Winch..
Well this Scout has been a little here and a little there. Used/yunkyard parts plus I had a donor 74' that helped. Went to Dixie regionals to get the new stuff and got a great discount there. Plus I have my "secret sources" for the 392V8. The Winch I can get at work for @ off, roughly $435. So you know how it goes, use every outlet possible. Hey, hows the Glass Scout doing?
Saw you posted some Ques. about another Scout you own..Another project???
Is'nt it GREAT!!!!
-Looking for a Winch?
Unfortunately I couldn't make it to the Dixie Regionals. It's too far of a drive for me to make it down there and back in a day, and at the time I couldn't set aside 2 days.
I hope I didn't come across as putting down your methods or your Scout in any way. I think you've done a great job with it. I was just having a little fun with you.
Yes as a matter of fact I am looking for a winch to put on my front winch bumper (see photo), as soon as I can afford one. What make/model of winch did you get for yours? Your price sure is more affordable than prices I've seen.
Oh, my Scout is finally finished and on the road, 2 years from the time I purchased it. It's got a 'glass body tub, windshield frame and inner fenders, and the rest is steel. The photo doesn't show it very well but the front bumper has a winch mount for a Warn or Ramsey winch.
