I need to make some bumpstops for my Scrambler. What is there usual purpose, and how tall should they be to limit up travel on my suspension.

Flex your Jeep and figure out how long to make the bumpstops to keep the tires from eating your fenders.

I guess I was wondering if bumpstops are intended to keep the springs from over flexing, or to keep the shocks from bottoming out. I really wasn't even thinking about the tires eating the fenders.
