I own a '98 Banshee and I was told that by adding the Pro Design Cool Head that it will improve the low end performance. Is this true? I'm looking for a way to improve the low end without doing anything major. What are the benefits of the Cool Head?

Thanks,
Mike

to get more lowend....first answer a few questions....
What is your gearing on your sprocket??
What pipe are you running?
Is it stock or are there any mods at all?

Everything is stock except for the air filter. I'm not looking for anything super high performance, but a little more low end would be nice. It goes fast enough for me so I don't need any more speed.

Thanks again,
Mike

to get more bottom end you should get a 2 into 1 pipe from dyno port there was a test on one in atv sport and they said it helped the bottom alot/wwwthreads_images/icons/cool.gif

I have the 2:1 dynoport and it was the biggest POS i have ever seen...if you want low end the best bet is to change ur gearing a bit with the sprockets...a boost bottle isnt a bad option either...but the 2:1 pipe is not even close to being what they claim it. Pipes are a good option to make mods, but there really isnt a great pipe for low end...the FMF gnarley is supposed to be a low end pipe...but we are waiting testing results from larsonator who is a reg BBS user. I will be trashing my 2:1 as soon as I get the cash together for new pipes...
basically...sprocket change will get low end...boost bottle will help a little...
cool head will help...but not enough to really justify cost...
pipes ....best option for change next to sprocket changes....

Hey airborn, I respect your oppion on dynoport pipes but can I ask what you dis like about them, because I own a dynoport pipe for my banshee, and have no complaints, I can even hit the highest RPM and still be pulling hard.

Just asking, not arguing

Well, my issue with the pipe is simple. It is stated to be a low-mid pipe and it is far from it, at least for me. I have a ported and polished motor stage 3 and the pipe is all top end...not even close to low-mid.
When that power band kicks, you had better be holding on because you will get shot off the back if you arent. It is not a trail pipe as they state it is.

I called dynoport for a dyno on the pipe compared to other manufacturers and they got pissy with me and would not assist me. I called Toomey and I now have one for the equivelent ones in my hand in a matter of 10 minutes. I also asked Dynoport how they decide if it is mid torque and they would not give me any answers and just got upset on the phone.

I will never suggest the pipe to anyone. It has been a complete waste of my time to try and get any information from them at all. I will put toomey or FMF on my machine before dynoport at all.

That is my reasoning. If I am going to spend 500 bucks on something from a company I had better be treated DAMN good...ya know?

Anyway, I do a lot of trail riding and this is far from a trails pipe...it may be the fact that is not matched to the motor work, but still this is not what they claim in my eyes...

Anyway I will stop ranting now...sorry bout that...
