I paid more than that for mine. But he kinda opened the hood and said get what you need. On the other hand the compression test was bad and it wouldn't run for any length of time. What exactly are you getting? (manifolds, carb, radiator, etc.) Around here you have to be very specific about exactly what you are getting BEFORE you hand over the money. Complete engine to you and to the junkyard dogs are sometimes very different. Also jeeps are pretty rare in salvage yards around here. Not much help I guess.

Can you fix it?
I got a welder and a grinder. Heck yeah I can fix it./wwwthreads_images/icons/cool.gif

Sounds like you definitely got a better deal than I did.

For every deal out there, somebody else got a better deal. /wwwthreads_images/icons/mad.gif $360 doesn't seem to unreasonable for a 360 you can hear run... and he's even willing to take the vehicle to your home. I was going to pay $400 for one from a local yard until I got a deal on one. It was running, but the vehicle had no rear axle, so all I could do was hear it run. It also had about 80k. I ended up traveling to cincinatti (I'm from Pittsburgh) to get one rebuilt with 40k for less money. I don't know if jeeps are more plentiful a few hours over into ohio, but around me they are a bit hard to come by and $400 didn't seem bad, not great, but not bad. Who knows, maybe he'll take less.

I am in detroit, MI, and I saw an add for a full wagoneer with a 360 for $350. It was an amc guy who wanted the trans and t-case. He did not have room for the rest though. He said he would be willing to "work something out" for the trans and t-case. I would imagine he would throw you a hundred or so, and then you fron the rest, and get the whole wagoneer (axles, engine, ps, etc.) The engine is currently seized though.
