81 scrambler 350 chevy dana300/amc20..i am looking for a powersteering setup along with power brakes and rear disc conversion setups. the steering is a necessity because im tired of straining with my big tires, wandering drives and sloppy feel. the disc are for my necessity to stop the beast. right now my stopping power sucks!! all ideas are helpful..thanks

I also need to know how to convert to at least power brakes (discs later$$$) is there a inexpensive way to do this on a 73 CJ5

I have a set up you may be interested in: the 78 cj dana 30 front ends had a bolt on caliper mounting bracket that is used in place of the drum brake's backing plate. I have two of these complete set ups; one I'm planning on installing in my CJ sometime soon and another I'll offer for sale. I'm in the process of converting my front dana 30 drums to power disc brakes. will keep you posted on what i find out in the process.

You need the power steering pump & reservoir to go with your 350, a Saginaw power steering box (can get a nice one off of a GM luxury car) and a new steering shaft or rag-joint to fit the input shaft of the box. For the power brakes, you can get a setup off of another CJ, a YJ, or Hydra-boost from a GM truck (I'm sure there's other stuff you can retro-fit as well). I'd do the power brakes first, then decide whether or not you need the discs. You can get rear disc stuff from Warn, TSM, or Stainless Steel Brake Corp.

TSM is the way to go. They can sell you all the parts or just the ones you have to have from them and you source the common brake parts. I have 79 caddy eldorado rears with integral praking brake - stops like nobody's business!!

IMHO
