for the box look for a chevy with 4 bolts as they are stronger (better) than a 3 bolt. They will both work for a sagniaw power conversion. you should be able to get the pump from the same vehicle, but you may need a new pulley.

My mistake
wanting to know what years CJs will fit the swap for a 84 power steering box
Sorry for the confusion

An '84 box is a bolt in swap for '72 through '86 CJ's. If a manual box is being swapped out a different coupler is necessary for the input and a different pitman arm is also necessary.

G
so what your saying is that a power box from 72-86
CJ will fit my 84 model

Sorry, your previous post made it sound like you wanted to know what CJ's your 84 box would work with. Mark is right about the Chevy boxes working in your '84. I used a box out of a '79 Grand Wagoneer along with the pump and brackets from an Eagle station wagon. The CJ's that I posted earlier will also work. Saginaw boxes are used in a lot of applications and the only real variations are the ratio and the number of bolts which bolt them on. Don't limit your search to CJ's and remember that if you have a six cylinder, a lot of Eagles had the same engine setup.
