I have a stock '85 CJ7 with manual brakes. I'd like to convert to power brakes. I would like to use the original Jeep booster and I see that I can order the booster and master cyl. from 4-wd Hardware for about $200. My question is, do I need any special brackets that mount to the firewall? I've also noticed that currently if the master cylinder is moved forward to make room for the booster, it looks like it would hit the air filter housing?

This is what my engine compartment looks like:

You will need to find an air cleaner assy. for a power brake '81-'90 CJ/YJ with a 258 and the mount for it that bolts to the valve cover.. The Booster mounting bracket has a bellcrank and a linkage rod also. Your best bet is a wrecker for the whole assembly and air cleaner parts. A new air cleaner at the dealer is well over $200! The booster bracket parts may still be available new, but I haven't checked on them lately.
Hope this helps, good luck!
