My son's Suzuki Samari, 1988, 1300. We did a valve job on it and have been tweeking it ever since. He has positive pressure and is blowing oil out of the valve cover. Seems to run good and gets good milage, but still an oil problem. We replaced the PCV valve and he was told to plug the hose from the air cleaner to the PCV valve so that the vacuum would pull off the valve cover.

Anyone know what could be wrong and how to fix it?

First, don't plug that hose. PCV valves only work under high-vacuum situations, idle mostly. During acceleration, the crankcase pressure has no place to go with that hose plugged. I think the rings are just so worn that is the cause of the leak. Get a leak-down tester and see what you've got going on there...

The Sami sat around for years and may have gummed up the rings really well. We got it (1988 with 90K miles) about six months ago and have had a lot of small things go wrong. My son loves it and because of a limited budget, has only done a little work. We had a blown head gasket so did a valve job. We replaced the fuel pump, some hoses and the exhaust system. He found some big tires (30 inch I think) and now wants to put a V8 into it. Don't have the money. I think maybe if I add some Mystery Marvel Oil for a couple of thousand miles that might help. I have heard that transmission oil in the oil helps too, but not sure what that would do to the seals. Runs good, but does use oil. Any ideas short of a short block rebuild would be appreciated. Oh, we did put the hose back.

Dont forget to check all the hose that work with the pcv system. The hoses also stop up. the T that is in the hose will stop up so hard that I had to clean mine out with a drill bit turning it by hand.
