Hey Guys,

Anyone notice that add on the top of the BBS tonight (with the girl showing her thong under undies). It sturck me as a little over revealing for our family type forum. Anyone else have opinions on this.

p.s. I am not offending nor complaing, it just struck me a little odd

I think this type of "porn" could be labeled under the phrase 'sex sells.' My opinion is that we are all adults on this site and as long as there is no one offended we shall not be complaining--if you don't like, don't look at it. I believe that we can tolerate this. I never really thought of this as a family-friendly forum but more of a hobby-interest site where we all learn, relax, tell stories, and smile about Jeeps.

I guess this is where people are asking for governmental assisance in rating each and every website for family-frienlyness.

This is fine by me. But I am only 21 and kidless. Just as long as it doesn't have any pics with my Jeep in its bikini, everything will be cool. Besides,
it makes our eyes move a little giving us at least a little exercise (approx .025 calories). /wwwthreads_images/icons/wink.gif

Chase- I was once 21 and kidless and can understand your point of view. When you are older and have kids, your view may be different. Mine is. This is a great, friendly forum of Jeeping fellowship. We don't need sex to sell anything here and IMHO it is totally unwelcome. And yes, I am a total right wing, gun toting, anti-baby murdering conservative and proud of it.

BM I too am a total right wing, gun toting, anti-baby murdering conservative and proud of it BUT, boy do I like Sex.....I have to agree with the above statement.....If you dont want to see it dont look at it. We must ALL make choices for ourselves. I do not feel there is any room what so ever for regulation on the internet, it is an equilizer for the small guy, like you and I, and like gun regulations imposed on us by propaganda about violence, internet regulation will come from propaganda about porn and your privacy. I think it is a little out of place here.

Some of you need to remember - many of the people who visit this site are NOT adults (I have seen many post who are 13-17 years old).

BTW, I am 24, no kids - but I sure think that ad is a little much for the BBS forums...

Anyway, unless people complain to the management I doubt anything will change. If you don't like it, let the management know - that is the only way to have it changed.

Exactly...

As an intelligent person, it insults me that they think a chick flashing her panties will sell me their product.

Murder is ok, sex is not. Just watch tv for an hour and tell me how many murder scenes you see and how many sex scenes you see.

How absurd. I really hadn't noticed until someone brought it to my attention. I guess if a person wants to look at it okay, if not don't look, but I'm glad you brought it to my attention, cause I'm GONNA LOOK! I'm not scared of her, I kinda like women myself. I thought it was pretty good advertising myself: This board is probably 99% men who are discussing Jeeps, tools, guns, building stuff, and plain ol' bull$hitting. So why not throw a chick flashing some panties on a banner? It's sure to get more hits than at the Martha Stuart BBS
