my buddy needs a carb BAD on his zuk and we were gonna get a weber for it. i recently acquired a pony carb and was thinking of putting that on it.

what are the major differences between the 2? why would i want to do a weber instead of the pony? any input would be appreciated.

If it's a bone stock engine with no mods at all , I'd say go with the Pony . The jetting is about right for a stock engine, and you already have one . Webers aren't cheap , but you get what you pay for in the long run . The biggest thing about the Weber is it's tunability , once you learn how to set one up they are pretty easy to deal with . The off-angle problems associated with them can be dealt with by float changes, vents , and especially fuel delivery . If the engine is modified , then it's no contest , the Weber will definitely outperform any other carb for power . If the engine has very extensive mods, don't waste your time with the 32/36 versions , go with a 38mm DGAS Outlaw series instead . Way better torque, same bolt pattern and fuel system .

the engine is stock and doesn't even have a header or muffler on it. well it has a muffler but a stock one.

so your saying the pony wouldn't be a bad way to go at all then right?

what do pony carbs usually go for(price wise?)

thanks for your help!

Not sure what Pony's sell for , you can ask some of the Canuck's here , I know DannyL sells them . I should start stocking rebuild kits for 'em , enough guys are starting to use those on stock motors .

Last year I got a pony from TAZUKI on this post. I have run it since with absolutly no problems. Actually, I got 2 from him and put on another Zuk I have. Both are great. Both engines are stock. Cost was about $85 each, delivered, to the best of my knowledge. Hope this helps. Email me if you have anymore questions I could possibly help you with. Buddy
