What's the weight difference? Personally, I'd use metal. Think of the ZJ poly tanks and how they can bust open on rocks. Metal usually bends. Poly can get brittle when really cold.

I would assume the poly ones are lighter. I want the heavier one though. I need weight in the rear to ofset the engine weight up front. I never thought about busting it though... About $30 in price diff. I guess the aluminum one would be better as far as strength goes. Good points.

Aluminum is NOT as good for corrosion though. Something to consider. Constructionon of the poly is also
important. One piece or welded. i'd not trust a welded poly unit

Heres a pic of one. looks like it has a seem. I guess I'll go w/ aluminum. Is corosion that big of a problem? Has to be better than a steel tank, and thats the standard.

Never mind just spoke w/ them. the guy who did the aluminum ones flaked out a long time ago. and the guy who does the poly ones was burned out by the fires in CA

. There just now starting to get them back in. But I don't want one of those anyway so the hunt is back on

. I feel like I know people who got them from jegs but I looked there and didn't see them

I dont recall seeing round tanks like that, but RCI offer both poly, and aluminum fuel cells.
