I have the 2 inch wide springs in the front. I am also running those funky shackles that are smaller
on the top. I would like to get rid of them. I have a brother with a machine shop that will fab me up some
but I haven't come up with a design yet. Im trying not to cut the hangers off to put wider ones on there.
I might be able to squeeze some H shackles in between the stock front hanger. I don't know.
I wonder why the engineers changed it?

If you see this put your .02cents in.......................Thanks

I was looking at puttin on H shacles on the same bracket and it is not as stoput as just cutting it all off and getting a real shackle hangar. The only way i saw was to make a shackle that was narrow at the top, bent out, then bent down to come out wider at the bottom. Hope that made sense. Just a paint to fabricate because you need thick material. If you get a chance look at a postal Jeep suspention in the rear, highly similar to what we have in front, just outboard. The shackle is the same too, just upside down, so yet another source!

Jayster,
Alcan does send you red bushings with springs. I guess they are poly. My only complaint with them was they sent me the wrong bushings. Just make sure you get the correct size for shackles and spring bolt holes! If you need to take up space with washers inside of your shackles, use fender washers!

Jayster:

Although it appears that the ESPO springs may or may not be the best option available, they can supply both rubber and poly bushings for whatever width springs and/or shackles you're running. I bought a complete set of poly front & rear spring and shackle bushings for my '66. I believe they are as good as any. You will need to have the spring eye and shackle hanger diameter and width when you call to make sure you get the right ones. http://www.espo.com

It's also probable that Specialty Parts in CA, (or any Crown Autoparts dealer, http://www.crownautoparts.com), can supply you with them. Ph. 800-504-5337.
