I am thinking of buying a new Scrambler 500, i was wondering if anyone could let me know some stuff about them. like how good are they in water, like up to the top of tires because that is what i would be doing most the time is riding rivers and creeks. like to do mud riding too, but serios about trail riding.you're help appriciated.

They are pretty sweet, i don't like the fully auto, but it is a good 4 wheeler. It is a four stroke so it shouldn't have much of a problem going throught the water and stuff like that. My uncle really wants to get one here soon.

abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz.oh yeah, please, no applauze.

as far as the belt drive...a guy I know has a scrambler 400 built special for him...and I have watched him cross creeks and river beds basically with water over the seat and he has not a problem with slipping...but he is into that 4x4 type of atv...I prefer the 2 stroke fast sob to keep me smilin :)

I've had our Pol in some pretty deep stuff before(like rack deep water) and it didn't have any probs but i have heard of it happening. I guess you can just rev the motor and dry it off if the water is able to drain but i suppose that just cuts down on belt life big time.

I just bought a 500 4x4(2000), I've have it in water, mud, and everything else I can throw at it. I've never have a problem with the belt yet. I'm sold on these machines, they never quit pulling and have more torque than most machines. I think you'll be happy with it. ENJOY!!!
