I just got my rebuilt 258 back. For starters the lights for my tach wont come on. Is there a wire I must connect in the engine bay? There is a black wire coming from the alternator that isn't a ground wire, where do I connect this? Also, there are two green wires that clip to the solenoid. What are these for?
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance.

What alternator do you have? Do a search on Teamrush and you should find plenty of wiring diagrams?

Can you fix it?
I got a welder and a grinder. Heck yeah I can fix it./wwwthreads_images/icons/cool.gif

I have the Delco Remy alternator. How do I search Teamrush? What should the stock amperage be?

The black wire goes into the battery post on your alternator.
To search look along the row of options that begins with Forum Index.
Click on search.
Search short wheelbase for "TeamRush".
Look through what you find for wiring diagram attachments.
This should help you out.
