I need to know if any of you all have tried either the "Goodyear Wrangler MT/R" or the "Dunlap Mudrover Tires", I'm trying to decide on which of the two, I want to purchase. (35x12.50x15) for my 78 Chevy K-1500 4x4. PLEASE HELP!
Don't think i've heard good things about teh mudrover, ppl say they are impossible to balance and dont' wear well. The goodyears are suppoed to be good, have heard good things, but i think they're more expensive. Depending on the wheel size, you should look at some other options too, like some Cooper STT's or something. Good luck!
Thanks, for the info. A friend of mine just bought the mudrovers yesterday at Sam's Club here in Arizona. They (Sam's Club: technicians)had no problems balancing them (32x11.50x15), He Hasn't gone out 4 wheeling yet thou.
I've put about 3000 on my MTR's now, and can't even tell it. I can still see the chalk marks from the factory, and it still has the little hairs sticking off the tires.
i got the Mastercraft Courser MTs, they are sorta like the Dunlops, but a whole lot better looking and hear also that they perform better, I havn't had th Dunlops but these tires I have, hae been everywhere, mud snow ice and sand, and don't come close to cloggin up, they clear great.
i have the goodyear mtr tires this may will be 2 years on them,i love them.the tread wear is not a problem they are on my daily driver and they still have more tread left than some new tires come with.
the courser MTs and the cooper STTs are the same tread pattern...same company (like chevy and GMC) i have a set of 33s on my z-71 and a set of 35s on my 94 half ton. i love the tires. they cleaim 30,000 miles on them, i've got 55K on the set of 33s and still enough tread that i wont be getting tires until the end of the summer. the 35s are too new to see any wear on them. great tire at a good price. if you dont get into too much mud the cooper S/T is pretty decent. i havea set of those in 31" that i toss on ocasionally if I'm goign to be doing a lot of hauling. it drops my hitch down lower and i get a it more torque with them
i run them on a cj7,i travel about 90 miles a day to and from work. They have been great on the snow and during the summer i have had no problems on wet pavement,i love them compared to the tires i have had before.
