I have a 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500 4wd and was curious what you you guys think the best lift would be to get as far as performance goes. I have been looking at the CST 6-8" kit and they are coming out with a 9-11" kit. Mainly Im going to be using the truck for sand and dirt as well as my daily driver and maybe a little towing down the line. What do you think would be the best way to go? Straight axle conversion? I've looked into 4wd long travel setups but no one makes a kit and shops want big money for customs work. Would just a 9inch lift with some racing shocks perform well in the dunes? Plase Help with any suggestions.

I'm sure other people will chime and and tell you but your IFS is weak. Lots of speed and big tires will break stuff, even in stock form. IFS lifts have the ability of leaving the CV's at a bad angle. Go with a quailty 6" lift and call it good. 35's should really be your max. You can run 37's on your truck, use the money you saved from the 11" lift to buy parts you break running those tyres.

You can go soild front axle and still be able to spend a lot of money. check out www.industrialoffroad.com for some tips and links on a SAS.
