Hey guys I know a couple of you guys are from the east coast and we had talked about going to paragon on the 12th of Oct we are still going if you would like to meet up there like I said before we will be running green trails nothing to hard because there will be a couple of stock vehicles and we do have a 3 hr drive back home. we plan on arriving at the staging area at 1000 am and heading out to the trails at about 1030 am. If anyone is interested let me know and maybe we can exchange cell phone #s via email so that we can stay in touch with each other on the 12th and get hooked up together. anyone interested post here and e mail me

I spoke to dave today. He said he removed his nerf bars, since they were trashed anyway. He thought they hung too low anyway.
I know he's ready to go again, but not so many rocks!

Steve, man, right now im stumped. It sounds like an electrical problem, so my guess is a sensor went bad. I know you mentioned having a problem with the inertia switch, did you try checking that? I dunno if that would stop the injectors, though. Im skimmin through my haynes manual, so if i see anything, ill post it

Tony:
I got your pics, not to worry, im on cable, so they came down instantly. Some good ones in there, but i hope we can get more from other people who were there, too. i finished my film today on my buddy's trashed car, so by thursday i should have some extras to add, but not that many, seeing as by lunchtime i had forgotten i brought my camera!

You definitely gotta go with us again, whenever it is that we decide to all get together again. But, expect damage! i found another small dent today, but in my rear (rotted) fender.

Must.....get....bigger....tires!
Dave's MTR's did soo great on the trail that i will most likely get a set of them for my next tire. Those sidewalls are bulletproof!

Hey all. I'm going to get the film developed tomorrow or wed, and then i'll post them up for everyone.

Rept- I'll stand by those MTR'S. That's what i was running as well and man you just can't beat those tires down, i know a few people that use them and everyone loves them. They were also given one of the highest ratings in Peterson's Four Wheeler. Get those tires.

i think the vane sensor inside the distibutor took a dump. Those MTR's are great. I saw Joe slide down off a rock on the sidewall and it bend till the rim was almost touching the ground. that is how much those flex. i was looking at them but my wallet is hurting bad now and my truck don't run anyway.

I'm going to the yard today to grab a distributor and swap them over. it probably ain't the ign module cause i got spark. I'll read the service manual at school today and see what i get

It's not the inertia switch cuz that controls power to the fuel pump not the injectors. If you have spark, then the pickup in the distributor is ok. Where did you mount the ECM? Did it get wet?

Trail looked like fun guys. Similar to what we see hear, main difference is more coniferous trees vs. deciduous (?) more needle bearing trees less leaf type trees. In the pic with the F150 having trouble on the front rock, looks to me like he didn't bother to air down, aside from probably having open diffs. Airing down helps tremendously in the tire gripping the rock better.

i bypassed the inertia switch. The computer is mounted in tupperware bolted to the fenderwell. It was the only thing that didn't get wet. I get a check engine light so the pcm isn't fried. i have power to the injectors and the harness had continuity to the pcm from the injectors. I'm searching out a bad ground. The ground for the injectors is controlled by the PCM so i want to make sure the PCM is grounded properly and it is corrosion free.
Just another thing on my list of things to do.

none because i ripped the battery out to charge it and then ripped the truck apart to do continuity tests on the wires. The wires are all OK and i just redid the grounds. I need a new injector cause i cracked one. I'm gonna use a noid light to test the injector circuit for proper operation. The ignition module is ok but i got a spare anyway. I know that code 11 means the PCM is ok and if u don't get an check engine light when u cycle the key it is fried. I had some codes before this happened but that was because i disconected the VSS and all of my emissions junk but it was like that for a year.

Well, I was never a doubter of the MT/R. As I said, they will be my next tire...unless the Parnelli Jones come down substantially in price.....(doubtful)

However, didn't look closely, hope the F150 was not running the MT/R's...man....let the air out and let the tire do it's thing. It's not as good as being locked, but the difference 10-15 pounds makes...and that is coming from someone who normally runs 35's on the highway/street at 25-27 lbs. Wow, what a literal back breaker/pain in the as% running at road pressure. Also lucky there was not more tire damage here. Not sure if the open front would have allowed it, but if the pressure had been way reduced, it is very possible that the tire would have maintained contact with that rock and drove right over it, no board or other help needed.

Speaking of which, everyone put back what they moved into the trail to make it easy, right? As you add all the goodies (lockers, gears and such), as Ret-T is doing, you will appreciate not having the trail "paved".

where to start......

My tires are pretty much designed to run at 25psi, so naturally i didnt even bother to air down when we got there!

Joe,
I have most of my work done at Kodiak Customs on Englishtown/Old Bridge Road. They did both of my axles, and so far, no problems!
The 6" lift went in seamlessly. Well, sorta. Both bleeder valves broke, so i had to replace both calipers. I opted for the extended steel braided lines, which usually dont come with the kits. Other than that, just a drop-pitman arm! Im told that driveshaft length is not an issue until you hit about 8" of susp. lift. They both seem fine on my truck.

Im pretty sure that once steve's truck died we stopped moving the rocks back. Didnt think about it till you mentioned it, but i really dont remember ever putting any rocks 'away'.

I guess Joe is the next to post pics, mine havent come back yet, but like i said, i only have a couple- i forgot i had the camera with me!

Maybe i can borrow that video, and try to upload some of it so everyone can see it?

OH, and who mentioned something about planning another ride?
Well, theres gonna be a Toys For Tots ride at Paragon on November 2nd, which, coincidentally, also ties into their monthly ride. The TFT's thing is supposed to be a two-day event, with the second day (sunday) being a "parade through Reading where all the toys will be given to the U.S. Marine Corp"

Hey all. I have to finish the roll of film which isn't much. I'm going to try to get them developed tomorrow at a one hour photo. I also am going to pick up more pics from my friend. I should have them scanned sometime this weekend. I'm shootin for late tomorrow night but i can't make any promises. I'm also going to try this weekend to upload the 25 minute video that one of the guys shot at paragon. I'll keep you all posted though.
