Hope someone can use this info...

Recently I have applied quite a bit of elbow grease trying to remove paint and rust from a front Dana60 I picked up. With all the brakeline hardware and shock brackets it wasnt easy to manuever around the axle very well. Someone mentioned using oven cleaner but it didnt work at all.

I picked this stuff up at a local auto parts store (Pepboys) and decided to give it a try. I tested one spot on the axle and moments after spraying it on the paint was completely wrinkled and wiped right off to bare metal with no effort whatsoever.

It's like $1.99 a can and I bet I didnt use 1/4 of it to do the whole axle and the diff cover...

i work at a car repair shop but we do lots of body work/paint jobs. we have a tub of that stuff but its really goopy and it makes a really nasty mess. what ya need to use is some stuff called "Tal Strip". wal-mart sells it for about 2.50 a can. spray it on, let it sit for about 30 minutes and the paint just falls off. it eats through sealants too. dont let it touch ya though. and the absolute MOST important thing is DO NOT USE THE BATHROOM AFTER SPRAYING THIS STUFF. not too good for the 'ole frank -n- beans.

It's not a CAR, it's not a TRUCK...its a JEEP-get it right.

Tis True. I've used that stuff twice now. When I last repainted my Jeep, it only took about four hours to strip to bare metal, but required four pairs of "chemical resistant" gloves.

There is a problem though. If you have dissimiliar paints over one another, then they will disolve at different rates and can make it REALLY hard to get off.

Good stuff!
