I get paid to weld repair commercial jet engines, specifically, rear turbine cases ( Jt8d-200, and Jt8d)for a case and fame shop ( pratt and whipme)

Hand Tig weld, Eb weld, a little zyglo, a little bridgport, and alot of hand blend.

I also build privacy fences/decks on the side, mainly because I like to drink beer and play in the sun.

I've worked full-time for the Mass ANG as a A-10 crewchief since 1989. It's a great job, the travel is wonderful, and the jet is a joy to work on! It's kinda the Jeep of jets. The plane in the pic, 79-0104, is mine, and you can't see me, but I was in the cockpit scrunched down while this was taken, holding the brakes so the plane wouldn't roll away.

Bosch, you know, the spark plug guys. I work in the Wheel End Division making Corner Modules for Ford Explorers. Corner Mods are the knuckle, hub, rotor, caliper, etc. Word has it we're getting a DC contract for Grand Cherokee Corners. Maybe I can switch over and it will be free brake pads for everyone.

I work as a troubleshooter/specialist for an Environmental Engineering Firm, specializing in Wastewater and Hazardous Groundwater remediation. I've been at it for about 9 years now, and am looking to change into the enforcement sector.

I really dislike this question.

My real job is a janitor at a private school (5:30-9ish)
I'm also a substitute school van driver (7-8am, 2:40-3:50, 3:45-5:00)
I'm also a substiture maintenance man there (8-5)
I'm also an occasional computer geek there, like this summer when I help wire up the remodeled High School-turned-Middle School for the new network, and set up the newly built High School and Science Lab computers

I make anywhere from $500-1200 a pay period (bi-monthly)

I get paid to walk through a park and talk to people!

Actually, I'm the Assistant Director of Education at a 19th century plantation. We have a victorian Mansion and numerous outbuildings on 30 acres that are absolutely beautiful!

I teach children from 4yrs old to college students and give adult tours on demand. When I'm not doing this, I'm fixing computers, faxes, video, lights, signs, you get the idea!

Nothing wrong with anyone's job, so long as it's honest work. It's all needed, someone has to do it, and it's important to have the right person in the right job or all hell will break loose.

Well, I don't really have an exciting job. No engineering here. No real technical aspects to my job. Just drive a car, find the house, and deliver the Pizza;) But it pays good. Hey, I'm only 18!!! Hehehe...

Unix Systems Manager for Micron Tech in Boise, Idaho. I've been fixing Sun boxes for ~ 8years now. My degree is actually in robotics (PC controlled, PLC controlled, etc), but there just isn't much to offer in this area for that kind of work (unless I want to spend 12 hours a day in a clean room suit.. no thanks). I wrench on my Jeep and Impala for stress relief.... /wwwthreads_images/icons/laugh.gif/wwwthreads_images/icons/wink.gif Bret

Up until a couple weeks ago I was a Standard Issue Manafacturing Drone at Motorola. I got really fed up and quit. 2 weeks later they offered a voluntary severence package and I would have got $4000/wwwthreads_images/icons/mad.gif. But oh well. Right now I'm unemployed but that's got to end soon. I'll probably go do construction again, hey it's only 100 degrees out/wwwthreads_images/icons/crazy.gif. I might get a job welding or doing fab work but I have my own fab biz, Overkill Offroad, and don't want to get burned out. I haven't been working on my biz for a few months now, I tried too grow to big too fast and paid severly for it. But I'm getting going again I should be getting the huge hydraulic ram for my bender soon so hopefully I be back up and bending in no time, a little poorer and a lot smarter.
