OT- Rio_Grande\'s a Daddy!!

I tried to call Jeff this evening and nobody answered. I knew his wife Patty was VERY close to delivering their daughter. So, I called the hospital and found that she had been admitted. I asked if she had delivered yet and the nurse said that she couldn't tell me that.
So, I asked if everyone was OK, and she said yes. I asked if that meant both of them or all three of them, and she said "All three of them are fine".
I didn't get to talk to Jeff or Patty, as she was sleeping and he was out getting dinner, or more likely drunk, but I left a message for him to call me when he got back.
I'll post more info later if he calls.
CONGRATULATIONS JEFF and PATTY!!!!!!!!!

Re: OT- Rio_Grande\'s a Daddy!!

Just talked to Jeff.
Hannah (sp?) was born at 10:15 this morning.
5-lbs 3-oz
That's about all I know now.
We're going over tomorrow afternoon to see them.
Jeff said he was going home later to shower and would try to post a picture.
He sounded pretty excited.

WOW thanks Fellas... It has been a heck of a night and day...

Jim has the vitals posted above, and thank god she looks like her mother and not me...

I was gonna post a pic, but by the time I got here I realized I forgot the Mem card so here I sit with no pic...

I wish I had been getting drunk,,, after almost 15 hrs of labor, 12 of it without her epidural (sp) and then an emergency c section everyone looked beat by 10pm when I left the hospital. I did not realize how tough it is to sit there and not be able ot do anything for the wife, and I had it easy she was the one trying to deliver the kid.

The short of it is although some real scary complications arose when they did the doc and his staff took care of business and I have a healthy wife and baby to show for it..

Well I am headed to bed to get some ZZZ. Jim bring your digital tomorow and we will solve that pic issue...

Oh did I mention Jim Became a grandfather AGAIN last week,,, Congrats Gramp...

Terrific news! Congratulations both, but especially Mom (Who did all the work, who had all the fun?) C-section is rough duty. Guess who's going to be doing all the work now?

Another Jeepchick in the pipeline! Going to bring the whole crew to the bash?

Jeff,
Congratulations!!! Can't wait for the pics. Glad to hear all are doing well. Even happier to know Hannah looks like her mother rather than you. I could just picture a bouncing baby girl trying to hold a roll of deer sausage. Congrats again to all of you.

Thanks fellas,, I do not think Hanna will make the bash, and patty would like to but reality says I will most likely be solo this year.

As for PIx,,, I have one attached... It is not perfect but definately a start.

CONGRATULATIONS!

Little ones are the most blessed of blessings... although you may not appreciate it until the late-nite feedings
and nasty diapers
are over with.

So can we call you "Hoosier Daddy[?]" now? (Bad pun intended!
)

Sincerest congrats!

Two cuties in that pic Jeff.
Make sure to relay the congrats from me and Tina to her.

You story sounds very familiar ......
Tina was in labor for 29hrs and 25 minutes. Didn't do the epidural till the end and still had to go C. So I understand what your talking about. Did you get to watch? It was a real trip watching them taking all your wifes insides out and laying them on top of her.......then go "fishing" for the baby........then "stuffing" them all back inside her. Kinda cool tho. AND.......I got to hold my daughter probally 30 seconds after she was born.
I even waited to "officially" name her until my wife was coherent again.
(it was my "job" to pick the name and Tina didn't even know what it was going to be for sure until I told her in front of the nurses)

From Jeff to everyone on the board.

Kathy and I went over to see them this evening. They are all doing great. Jeff is about as proud looking as anyone I've ever seen. He's pretty proud of Patty too for all she went through. Us guys sure do have it easy!!!!
Anyway, I have a few more pictures of them, including Jeff with his little girl.
They are here.

DD: I don't remember them taking any of my wife's innards out to find/get my boys out... Maybe I was too busy looking for the baby too? I must admit though, the stretching of that little incision into a hole big enough to pull the baby out was distracting and even a mite unnerving.

When my second son was born it was a 'pre-planned' c-section. Joanne was very insistent that I remain seated up by her face and not stand to look at/in the incision, etc. I thought it was b/c she wanted/needed the encouragement & moral support. Finally, I convinced her to let me look/watch. I did not think a whole lot about the procedure - neat, but not that big a deal. Later, when I asked why she did not want me to look/watch, she said she did not want me to pass out (w/ the resultant chaos, embarassment, etc.). I then made the very big mistake of comparing her C-section to field dressing a deer, and stating that if I can do that, her C-section was certainly not going to make me pass out. That was 4yrs ago - I'm still hearing about it.

Just a little war story I thought I'd share...

Glad to hear the good news

A little tip: Advocate breast feeding and you wont have to get outta bed as often, unless she figures out to send you after the baby.
