as some of you know, i live in the wonderful city of sterling hgts
Image
and i had problems with the city coming in my back yard and writing tickets for anything they could find (behind my garage, i had a basketball hoop they ticketed me for last time) well anyway, the GF has been off work sick and they decided to walk through my back yard univited once again. the guy even parked across the street to avoid detection. anyway she didnt know who was walking through the yard and grabbed her shoes to investigate. she yells to him and says i quote "what the

are you doing in my yard" he proceeds to say "im from the city..." she interupts him and says "who gave you permision to go back thier" "im doing a follow up" he says, she goes "dont you think of knocking, i have a gun and was going out here to shoot someone for trespassing, get the

off my property, or im calling the cops" he leaves with his head hanging down and get this APOLOGIZES! she told him to never come back.
i cant wait to move out of here, thiers no privacy and they pull you over if your exhaust is a little loud. i knew i got back with her for some reason

thats frickin awesome man. theres soemthing to b said for a girl that knows how to handle a gun. fortunately my girlfriend doesnt like to fire anything but a shotgun...it leaves me at least a little change to get away...
Image

whydont you go to the police or call them and talk to them about this....perhaps go over the city police to county or state

she hates the shotgun, well, i was going to show her how to shot it with 3 1/2" magnum slugs, she didnt like the looks of the bruse on my shoulder, so she passed. im just going to move out, sick and tired of all the nieghbor's [bleep] too. they love it when i bring the motorcross ready rm250 for a few quick jaunts up the driveway. i had a nieghbor yelling at me while i was tuning the carb in the driveway, i just hold my hand to my ear and rev the motor. took the cops about 15 minutes to get there
Image
and it was like do you own a dirt bike,,,yes,,,were you reving it up,,,,,maybe, depends,,,,,,,as long as your done by 10:00 its fine. so i waited till 10:05 and ran it up and down the driveway for 10 minutes straight then put it away and went to bed

. people i nthe city do frown o nthsat a bit though. one good thing about college towns. i was out a few nights ago on my quad doing laps around the house and ramping some of teh landscaping junk here i nthe yard. people from across the street and the appt complex nearby came out to watch me.
generally we've got a different breed living here that ya do over there in sterling

As far as I'm concerned 9pm to 9am is quiet time. All other times I don't care as long as it wouldn't piss me off if a neighbor did it. Nobody really likes my quad and it can be kind of deafening in the city with all the buildings so close. I like to zip around my 50x100 chunk of land. You can hear it for a couple blocks plain as day and know I'm playing with it up to 10 blocks away. The crazy part is that once I get out in the woods or an open field you can't hear me 300 feet away.

People do wonder what I'm doing when I'm out in my barn beating on stuff or have the tablesaw going. But none of them really complain because I'm a saint compared to the people that used to live here. Plus, I give them something to talk about.

Especially since I'm from downstate and they think us "trolls" are goofy. I remember when I moved in people would watch me with binoculars and everything.

the people in my town hate loud trucks, they can stand the elevator you can here 1/2 mile outta town during harvest...but they cant stand pickups
Image
some old people think i tear up the street the way i drive...i did a u-turn down at the end of a dead end someone called my dad...this is the S-10, when my muffler was shot so it was moderatly loud at idle.
So That Peaceful Sunday Afternoon...i go in our backyard with the GMC (at the time had no box on it)...just start whipping cookies like mad
Image
, Loud as hell, and no weight in the back so didnt hardly tear up the yard(least not enough for my dad to say anything. i hope all the old folks liked that
Image
i dont mean to piss off the old people but shoot, they just cant stand the puds with the riceburner corsicas all over hell tearing around, which i dont blame them, but i think they can no stereotype highschoolers so much...
Half the the nice looking stuff in our town is from my FFA chapter, and ive worked on it all...sorry, felt like gripping

Some lady bitched at me when i was changing the rearend on my truck in the front driveway last year. She said it was degrading to the neighborhood...i asked if she wanted to pay for a shop to do it for me and she left.
Other people around here do stuff like that too...some guy yelled at a friend and me for going too fast in his S-10, we were doing the speedlimit, maybe under...he drove down to the other end of the street to do a u-turn and yell back at the guy, and another guy held a tree branch out in the street - like a tollgate - and told us to slow down...we were like WTF is wrong with this neighborhood?

Yeah, I know what you mean. I miss living in the country. We had neighbors, but they were either nearly deaf or didn't care as long as it wasn't late at night or early in the morning. I used to tear around on my quad for 4-5 hours a day 7 days a week until I reached 17 or so. More so when the crops were in. I used to turn the fields in to 65mph race tracks...

I know what you mean about being able to do donuts easy. When I was running around here without my box on this summer I couldn't get out of the back yard in 2wd. The pictures I have just before painting it at my parents' place it is backed into the drain field and I had to use 4wd to get it back up on the driveway.

yeah, i can go half mile out of town to our one pasture(my dad and uncle own a 280 acre family farm, but we live in town, my great aunt lives at the farm house) i can do whatever i want out there.

Dont get me wrong about the older people. The county grader was out on the gravel road buy our farm one day. (this was two summers ago), i was drivin the scottsdale, and powerslid around a corner. the Grader guy saw me, i know him pretty well. He talked to me a couple days later and thought it was pretty cool

gotta love the kids at heart

Personally I really like the Canondale's. However the price is outrageous!! But a fuel injected bike must be pretty cool.

I friend of mine just bought thier quad. He races it. He can connect it to his laptop to change the curve. Pretty Crazy.

Reminds me how glad I am I live in a small town. Right outa high school, a friend and I were cruising in 302/C4 powered Dodge D50, stood on it pretty hard and pulled the front end about 6 inches up, all on main street. The cops immediately got us, but just asked what the hell we had in the thing, and don't be doing that where the tourists can see, 'cause it makes them think we're all ********...
