we used to sing that with the kids when i worked at a cub scout camp
we'd have one of the big-football player male staffers cross-dress like a good fairy and all the kids thought it was the most hilarious thing in the world! good memories!

i'm going to try a Greg-original recipe this time and do a lil roasting and basting with some Jack Daniels sauce i found....hopefully it turns out ok..i'll let you know

Cut in strips, marinate in brown sugar and water, sprinkle with lemon pepper, and grill, adding marinade until seared. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I prepare rabbit and squirrel the same way. I put them in a crock pot with equal water and vinegar. Crock for 5-6 hrs, pour out juice, refill with BBQ sauce leave for another couple of hrs. Meat is tender and tasty.
Our rabbit crop for this year is kind of mixed. We had a flood for 7 days so all the bottoms have very little cover and very few rabbits. Most of the young ones die during long flooding periods. The higher thickets seem to be holding a few. I have been twice and might go some in January.
Hunting results for this year so far
Rabbits- 3, Jump shot them out of brush piles, My daughter's dog is a retard.
Squirrels- 13 my dog treed, 1 she didn't
Racoon- 18, we had 3 doubles where we only shot one.
Deer- 1 seven point field dressed at 135 lbs, had seen him 2 times before during early archery and passed on 2 shots. Took him during opening day of shotgun because I hadn't seen very many bucks.
The crop of game is mixed this year. Rabbits are not very plentiful this year because of the above mentioned reasons. We had a good mast crop so the squirrels are tripping over each other in the woods. There seems to be plenty of ****, we had very poor weather for hunting last year and the price was down. We have seen many deer but bucks are few and far between. I think there was quite a few button bucks killed last year in this area.
