Crapsman has a one year on the vice so I will be taking it back....

Yea I am going to go bigger probably.....just need to find one that is built well. Damn things are made of pot metal these days....I am looking for one like my dad has that he bought years ago....made of steel!!!

Got me one of these instead of beefing the u-joints with the vice anymore.....The local Harbor Freight store is about 1/4 mile from my work /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/40BEER.gif

Can't beat it for $20....might not be the best quality setup but it was cheap and no use spending tons of money on something you only use once in a while.

It did work like a champ for being an elcheapo Harbor Freight tool....I give it a /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I used my 16 ton harbor freight pipe bender and some heavy wall tubing to replace a ujoint in my toy driveline. should have herd the bang when the ujoint finally moved.

Yea the OEM Chevy ones REALLY pop when they give /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/warning.gif.....$hit went flying everywhere when they did. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/chairfall.gif

I have never seen ones with the plastic retaining ring around the middle of the bearing cup like these were. It is all internal so you can't see it at all....just have to press the poo out of em till they pop.

I did learn a new trick though....get them good and tight and tap on the yoke outwards and it takes a little bit of the bind off of them and they give a little easier than using the pressing force alone.
