This has been a busy week or ten days for my family. My son Chris graduated from high school yesterday. Last week, he had his Eagle Scout Board of Review. He has already enlisted in the US Marines, on the delayed entry program.

So I suppose my time with him as a kid has its days numbered. During the Board of Review, I was permitted to stay while the Board questioned him. From his answers, I could tell that he is no longer the small boy whom I coached Little League or joined the Cub Scouts. He's become a young man. I'm so proud of him!!

congrats xjy173's son. I stayed in boy scouts until i moved, i was 4 months for my eagle. I didn't want to go to the troop here after 9 yrs with my old one ya know. It was a mistake now that i look back a few years. again congrats

Yeah, I was a Boy Scout,too. Back in the late 1960's and early 70's. I was 16 when I quit..and had atained the rank of Star. I kind of wish that I had stuck it out to get to Eagle. But that's not the way it turned out. Anyway, when Chris joined the Cubs, I signed on as a leader and moved over to the troop when he did. I've been involved ever since. I'm glad that I did....not only to see Chris progress but to give back to kids what my Scout leaders gave me so long ago now./wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif

Hey that's great! Scouts really teach kids a lot and I think more kids would benefit from it if they just gave it a chance! Congratulations again.

I guess I have to say I envied my buddy that was a camp counselor in high school. I'd go down to see him at Canyon camp, where he'd do all sort of crazy crap. Best times I had were with him, but I don't get to see him as often. Ironically, it's 'cause he's in the Marines now. Best of luck to you and your son's future!
