One for the GEARING GURU\'s

I now have my 1ltr xfer with the 12% reduction gears. When I crack it open, along with my current 1.3ltr xfer, which gears do I combine to make the 4.16:1 gears?

I remember hearing that some of them need to be welded together, which ones are they? I'm so keen on getting this done on the weekend. :)

thanks guys
skippy.

Re: One for the GEARING GURU\'s

here's the gear you need both from the sami and sj case. the gears are both cut in half, the large gear from the sj is welded to the smallgear from the sami. Once you have the gear done you change the #5 shaft and gear from the sj to the sami and the #26 gear from the sj to the sami. If the shaft on the circled gear is not removable, you have the wrong t-case.

ok it appears as though the idiots at the shop gave me the wrong box. so, I took it back and got a refund.

someone has offered me an xfer out of a 1ltr 95/96 maruti ute. will that have the gear I need?

Re: One for the GEARING GURU\'s

All you have to do is cut and weld the top of the 413 cluster gear to the bottom of the 410 cluster gear. Simple as that.

Also, make sure to TIG it and build your own compression jig so that there is no movement between the two gears during the heating and cooling process of the welding.

As a potential point of assistance, we offer the cut and weld service for $100. You just send the two gears, we do the work and ship it back.
