I don't have the money for a Mobi-weld or any other premade ones, but can get parts to build the alternator one. If you have built it, did you make any changes? Any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanx!

I've never used the setup described but I know from an age old experiencs with my father in the woods (I was like 12) that you can weld for a short period of time just using an unmodified 100amp delco alternator with a small rod, the setup should work for emergency repairs but will not be as nice or durable as a proper setup.
