I have the opportunity to get two 1969 Scouts for $100. One of them is running and the guy uses it to plow snow. the other one does not run but is in better shape. He said the running one is pretty rusty though. I am not familiar with scouts much. I do know that old jeeps, my CJ included, had frames that rusted out real bad. Do the old scouts rust out bad in the frame like jeeps (this is in WI)? I have looked all over the internet and have only seen a few pictures of rusty scouts, maybe they used thicker body panels back in the day? I have not seen the trucks yet and am curious to know what to expect. They both have 4 cylinders. Also, when did they start using D44's in the front? I immagine these will have either a 27 or 30?? My girlfriend went wheeling with me and my club this past weekend and she loves it. She wants a wheeler' now so this would be a rig for her. From the sound it wouldnt be trail worthy for some time, but at least something to wrench on from time to time.
