I'm guessing
that it's designed to go into the crankcase ventilation system. It looks pretty simple, put it in to the line between and it possibly has some sort of deflector or mesh in it to cacth sludge and carbon which drops to the bottom ? Ummmmm yip thats my guess
. Alfie tell me how $$ much and I'll do ya one for 1/2

There's lots of catch cans in use by turbocharged subcompacts - civics, integras, etc etc. In many cases its just a bling bling thing. In some however, it is a legitimate device - in my Nissan, for instance, oil apparently will spew from the crank case breather if turbo charged - i.e.: a litre in an afternoon, and that will absolutely pollute your intake track and throttle body, as well as endanger the motor overall by fawking around with the octane level of the gas.

So - your cc breather goes to the catch can, oil accumulates in there (maybe a return line to the pan?), and air continues to the intake.

Like I said, in most cases its a bling bling thing.

It's on Trade me for a buy now of $80.
I am fitting a one way valve to my extractor and crank fumes are headed out the back door. So it's not what I need, I was just interested to know what it was and how it works.
I sort of guessed that it would sit inline of the crankcase vent system.
As stated, bling bling bling.
