Oh yeah, that\'s it!

Remember my articulation problem a while back??? It just dawned on me today, I installed 4" bump stop extensions that attach under the u-bolts. These, plus the 4" stock rubber stopper limits my travel GREATLY. By my estimations up to 8" of travel.

What if I take off the just bump-stop extender? My wheel compresses farther into the wheel well... and... what else????

Depends on your lift kit. Did you install a 4" lift? Transfer case drop? CV driveshaft? What size tires? If you take the bump stop extenders out, one or more of a bunch of things can happen. You could hit the sheetmetal with your tire, try to shorten your driveshaft too much with the flex and slam it into the transfer case(bad results), get limited travel anyway when your highly arched spring tries to flatten out that much and the shackle travel stops your articulation, bottom out your shock absorbers......

travel and articulation are functions of all of these things. Investigate all these things to get your best articulation without damage or limitation.

Good luck

It's a 3.5" Black Diamond lift, 3/8" Shackle lift, 2" t-case lowering kit, 4" lift AT Shocks, track-bar extenders... sway-bar disconnect, extended brake lines... moved the vaccum lines, (et al)... what else??? I don't even remember it all now... 31x10.5 on stock rims (soon(er or later) to change to 33 x 12.5 on 8.5" rims)

So, I could ram my front driveshaft into the t-case, thereby destroying it? that doesn't sound good... slice open a tire on the sheet metal.. On my lift, there is only about 4" of space between the bump stop, and the bump-stop off the axle...

Does everyone out there use bump-stops? What size?

Hey Jon, why don't you just take out the bumpstop extensions and ramp it. You'll see any problems that way. Once you upgrade to 33" tires you'll need some extended bumpstops again.
Just my partial dollars worth on the subject.
