Off Topic - Bubba\'s Big Speech

I was working last night, so I missed King Bubba's circus. Just read the paper and saw that he wants to require state-issued photo IDs for handgun buyers, verifying they have cleared background checks and passed a training course (there is an instant background check required right now). This is simply a ploy for gun registration.

This is but one more erosion of our freedoms. If the prez and her husband get their way, we'll all be driving electric go-carts, eating eggplant, living in co-op communities, and relying on the government to "protect" us from all those bad people (the criminals and our elected idiots). The Supreme Court has ruled that the police have no legal obligation to protect the citizens - gives you something to think about.

Sorry...I had to vent. It's this kind of twisted BS that is ruining this country. Punishing millions of law-abiding gun owners because of the actions of a handful of idiots is like banning all 4x4's because one jerk drives off the designated road.

Just like we need to take action regarding off-highway vehicles, we must take a stand on other issues involving our rights and freedoms. Write your elected officials, join the NRA, and VOTE!

Re: Off Topic - Bubba\'s Big Speech

You know, the really goofy part is that this proposed "measure" doesn't even have a damn thing to do with gun contol. It's called "feel-good legislation" & King Bubba (as you so accurately described him) has thrived on it for 8 years. Throw out some nonsense to the leftist media to be gobbled up by the naive TV-watching public & then talk all about the "evil" Republican Congress when they try to raise the voice of reason. Too bad we have to have a politician instead of a president. And for a more ON-topic subject, this gun control "measure" rates right up there on the political scale with the new national monuments. Being public lands, they're already "protected" from developement and many of the other things from which Bubba claims to be protecting them. And what irritates me more than anything is this scoundrel taking credit for a booming economy that is actually thriving on the principles of "Trickle-Down Economics", which were put in place by RONALD REAGAN, not King Bubba. Reagan drove a CJ6, BTW./wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif

/wwwthreads_images/icons/smile.gif Dan! There IS something you can do! Go to cjeepercreeper's post on "High Anxiety" and click on the site he mentions, then click on stupid Algore's photo and download the reasons why people don't want to vote for that commie. Make a zillion copies and give them to EVERYBODY!!! Some Jeep guys have already distributed a slew of them. We must do this!!!! /wwwthreads_images/icons/frown.gif

That idiot klinton said requiring a license to own a handgun is like states requiring us to have drivers licenses to drive. What he is too stupid to understand is that there is no constitutional right to drive but the constitution guarantees us the right to own a gun so we don't need a license to have a gun.

CJDave, knowing how you feel about King Bubba in the oral office, I saw a great editorial cartoon in this mornings San Diego Union - Tribune.
There is George bush standing there in a suit, Next to him is Albore pointing amd saying " What makes anyone think America will elect a Frat
boy President." On the other side of Albore is Klinton dressed in a toga, holding a bra in one hand and a cigar in the other and shouting
" TOGA TOGA " Seems pretty accurate to me.

CJ Dave

That's some pretty interesting reading. Will definately be passing that around. Hate to think what will happen if we get Al Hore in the Red House.

JP

That is exactly the point I tried to make on another forum...hope they understood. Some people just don't get it.

Re: Off Topic - Bubba\'s Big Speech

Well folks, I'm sorry to say I missed the whole show. I was checking out the backsides of my eye lids. When I came home today there is his swollen face across the front page of our local (about 10 pages) newspaper.

I can't wait to use that one under my Jeep when I'm changing the oil .

Has it occured to the whine-baby Dems that crooks break laws....that's what makes them crooks. What makes them think they will abide by their lame gun law? Ever read the section in the paper about all the losers that had their day in court for driving without a license or driving without insurance? They'll have to start a new column for "shooting without a license".

Re: Off Topic - Bubba\'s Big Speech

I liked the part about free medical insurance for those whose children are already covered (over 2m)by the CHP (Childrens Healthcare Program)... but he'll strive to make COMPANIES more accountable for paying lower wages. Yeah, by taxing them...

or the part about making Medicare available to those 55 and older... nice.
What about giving a larger tax break to those people that have MORE than 4 kids? So, if I DON'T HAVE 4, I'm being punished? What about the larger tax "break" for those that earn less than 30k? Does that mean that those who make MORE than 30 pay more? Hope not.

Ugh. Socialism, here we come.

Re: Off Topic - Bubba\'s Big Speech

I listened to his speech- got so mad the wife turned the tv off, I flipped it back on. He started out by saying he was going to wipe out the national debt. Then he went with these proposals: we need to double spending on......we need to spend more on..........I propose we spend more than ever before on.........I propose spending x amount of dollars on this new program..............we need to increase funding on..........I ask that you spend more on this program than ever before...............we spent record amounts on this program last year but we need to spend more........we are going to increase spending on this program by 50%. Everytime he said "we need to spend" I thought yes, you know exactly how to spend MY MONEY. I don't see how anyone with an IQ above 60 believes or trusts anything that guy says. The state of the union is: A MESS.
P.S. I see England needs sword control, sword permits, sword licenses, a guy murdered one person and wounded another with a sword.

Re: Off Topic - Bubba\'s Big Speech

I went to my local grassroots NRA meeting Tuesday. Becuase of term limits for State Assembly and the Senate, some Democrats are moving up the food chain to Senate. One Demo has carried every anti gun bill imaginable, the other not one. Open primaries. Who do you think EVERY NRA member will but voting for?? (even Repubs, open primary, get it? It's a beautiful thing hehe) Buh-bye gun grabber

Re: Off Topic - Bubba\'s Big Speech

Yeah, you got it! It isn't the government's money to spend. It's OUR money. And we aren't running a "budget surplus" here, we're actually overcollecting on taxes.

And the sword thing. Well, the brits WILL pass some kind of law. It is only a matter of time before there'll be confiscation of steak knives in that country. Or maybe here.

And why anybody believes a word that comes out of Klinton's mouth is beyond me. He is the MOST massive liar/perjurer.

But I forget. He didn't have sex with Monica; she had sex with him. Depending on your definition of "is."

And some people felt removing him from office would be cruel, because "How much damage could he do in two years?" Try 50 million acres of damage and further assaults on the Bill of Rights.

I watched McLaughlin on PBS and they showed the times Klinton tried to say they were working for
livable neighborhoods, but each time it came out they were working for liberal neighborhoods, funny stuff.

If you don't, you should give McLaughlin a try, he hates Klinton. You will have to put up with Eleanor
though, a true Democrat and Klinton supporter. I think she's smitten over the guy.

Well when he came one I had 2 choices, stare at the AWOS (automated weather obersiving system) or watch the TV, So I watched the AWOS for 2 hours and the wind changed from 320 @ 10 knots to 270 @ 15 knots gusting to 23 and the ceiling fell to 2200 feet. Now that was interesting
