Another PoCo person!

In the southern hemisphere TD Vitaras were common. The one there uses a Mazda 2L, intercooled unit that was Japanese made. The European models (Made in Spain and Hungary) use a Peugeot 1.9L unit, which is still available alongside the current 1.9 TD Grand Vitaras.

I think it was Suzuki of France where you can still get a new Sammy, Kick (Vitara) and Grand Vitara all at a dealer. All have diesel options, as well.
