And FYI:

What’s a rallycross? Rallycross is a (legal) form of automobile racing that’s held on a closed course that’s usually dirt or gravel. Any type of car or truck can compete with no special modifications required.

Anyone with a car, a license, and $45 can enter!

Hopefully you guys will think this is as cool and fun as I do, and come check it out. Although it’s very youth oriented, (average competitor age is 21), it’s a great family event, or a cool place to bring your friends, hang out and watch this new & exciting form of motorsports.

Wasn't this already deleted once????

For reasons unknown and unexplainable.

Tell me.... why wouldn't one be interested in a "new" form of dirt racing, off-roading, and motorsports.

Just because you may not have an interest doesn't mean that others don't as well. This is a great event. If you don't believe me, come check it out for yourselves.

My guess is just because this is the shortwheelbase board of the offroad bbs. This should be in the competition section since it has nothing to do with short wheelbase jeeps.

If you followed my instructions when I deleted this the first time, and you still don't understand why I deleted it, you're pretty slow. If you didn't follow my instructions, shame on you.

Since you're still here, I'll wait to see if you show any signs of becoming a contributing member of the board before I dump thread.

Seems easy to take... let it float on it's own merit... ever watch Letterman's "Will it float"?

I sorta miss SoCal... well not really... just sorta.

I didn't get any instructions…? I was left to wonder where the thread went and why. I've read the "please read me first" thread and I believe that my post qualifies under all the requirements. If you have a specific issue with me, please share, as I am in the dark.

What part of "this is a short wheelbase jeep board" was unclear? The bbs is broken down into different topics to make it easy to find information. This post has nothing to do with jeep tech and doesn't need to be on this board.

Now, go ahead and ask a jeep question.

Ok...Why are jeep owners such close-minded jerks?

Are you that threatened by a woman in motorsports? Or are you against any activity/event that's outside your comfort box? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lame.jpg

Whatever it is, I feel bad for you. Good luck.

You guys get your wish... I'm gone. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/30.gif

P.S. If anyone is interested in the world of rally, or would like to share your own dirt activities... please feel free to come socialize on my friendly site:

Thanks, but that pic is way out-dated. This one is a better representation of who I am.

Have you guys ever heard of Rim of the World Rally? It's held in Palmdale, Ca in May. The pic on my avatar is of me jumping in the race.

If you guys put your inhibitions aside for a moment and checked out what it is we do… you might just like it. We drive, drift, and jump our cars in dirt. We take them to the deserts, sand dunes and from time to time even go rock crawling with them. It's a blast to put these AWD machines to the ultimate test.

i'll jump in on kicking the dead horse.....i like ralley, i've wanted to get into it for a long time...but dont have the money since it all goes to Jeep, House, and School (that order)

i'll agree though that this post belongs in the rally and competition forums....keep it organized.....if you were a person who normally posted here you could get away with it as an off topic post....hell, i love making off topic posts...but i've been here for over 5 years and i always label them as such....them are the two problems.....

"Peddle their wares" What "ware" exactly? I don't get anything out of you guys choosing to come to the event or not.... It's a sport many people are interested in and I thought you might be too.... that's about all. In fact if you were to compete, that just means more competition for me. I don't organize the event, nor do I profit from it, besides gaining experience.

Dang you guys are tough, I personally don't see that big a deal in her posting up the info here, she's not selling anything, admission is free for spectators (unless you are racing, then the fee would apply). Now to defend these guys, you have to understand we get alot of people here that just drop in and try to sell us something and never contibute anything to the forum, basically just spamming, so people around here are a little touchy when a newbie comes in and posts something up that has mostly nothing to do with Jeeps.....So as long as you hang out here and contribute, and aren't just someone flashing in and out you will likely be accepted and welcomed....

#21 ·
Kerry, I would respectfully disagree with you. This is a Jeep board. Period. If someone wants to post off-topic, we accept and sometimes welcome it. But they are members who know what subjects to go O/T on. This post did not belong on this board, and the Mods were correct in deleting it, IMHO. Now, if you posted what a great time you had last weekend at a Rally, we would take an interest. There's a difference. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/40BEER.gif

Ok, Ok, I guess you have been bashed enough, tenacious thing aren't you! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
1. You are new here, we get a lot of hucksters here, just using this BBS for free advertising.

2. Re-read the biginning of this post, reads more like a "Girls gone wild" AD than a sincere invitation. You could have posted, "In the LA area? Interested in a 4x4 rally", etc. There is not a big percentage of our members in the LA area.

3. I have no care what sex you are, and what sport you play, as long as you can run with the big dogs and keep up, I'll watch, join, help etc!

Here is one of my favorite quotes on the subject from Major Samantha Carter from the show Stargate:

Your all wheel drive grocery getter is not an "off road vehicle" every "rally" race I've scene involves "roads" of some sort. Oh but wait, they sometimes put gravel on them? Wow, who woulda thunk it.

[ QUOTE ]

Apparently, you don't understand. This is a SWB Jeep BBS, not a euro mall racer BBS. A Jeep is not a car.

[ QUOTE ]

[/ QUOTE ]

Uh, I suppose there will be a few calender girls there or factory reps, but in Cali? I can think of better options to see "Hott Chicks", besides I'm married to one.

And the rest simply comes off as a cheap commercial spam attack, posted by the racer who drew the short straw. The "come race your own car for $45" seems like /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif. Sounds like the regulars want to increase the prize pool by getting high school fast and furious freaks to pony up only to break their ricers and lose.

If you had come by and simply said, hey guys you might be interrested in this, then stopped typing, you may have gotten a different result. But did you really think you'd get a huge reply from a bunch of Jeepers anyway?

One more thing, I know gravel is technically made os small rocks, but that does not make what you do "rock crawling". Your 6" ground clearance gravel pusher wouldn't last a minute in a real "OFF ROAD" enviornment. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Gravel Girl, you should have the picture now. Whether you personally profit or not from attendance of spectators or racers, you did promote a commercial event as your first post.

That's not as bad as some whose first post is selling some overpriced piece of junk. Because of that, and because you have stuck around and defended yourself, I've let this thread run.

Had you made a less spectacular presentation, along the lines of:

"Rally cross this weekend, put on as a non-profit event sponsored by Rally America. Here's a link in case you're interested. Any questions?"

You would have been much better received. For the last several years I've posted requests for help for the 100 Acre Wood rally. Simple request - no hot chick come-ons.

OK Now I have a problem with this statement! Not only do they welcome women in offroading (which your event is not) they encourage it. So put on your BIG GIRL PANTIES and be nice.
