ok you know that pic of the three fire men raising the flag at the wtc? well they are making a statue....except they are taking out the real firemen and putting guy of different races in it. this may be the worlds fastest example of historical revisionism. how people get off on changing history before it even gets written down is beyond me.
here a link to the petition to tell history the way it happened

Is it ok to yell "movie" in a crowded fire house?

/wwwthreads_images/icons/mad.gif Pat Robertson just wrote a book about how the American cluture is being wiped out by immigration and the trend toward kissing up to the immigrants instead of saying: "This is America! Speak English or get the hell out!" They are teaching Islam in some of the skools in .....you guessed it.....California. You could not possibly teach Christianity, but you can put turbans on the schoolkids and teach them about Islam. There is nothing as WORTHLESS as so-called "Affirmative Action" where you artifically exault a specific race. The ONLY three things that ever got anyone off of rock bottom are Skills, Work, and Savings. They closed the entire *****'s Restaurant chain because the ****** bitched about how it was "Holdin' them back." Well, that was almost twenty years ago, and have you seen any black person take more responsibility for their actions as a result of closing *****'s?? Have you seen any blacks get off drugs as a result of closing *****'s? Have you seen any blacks decide to stay home and be a father instead of being an absentee parent as a result of closing *****'s? That's just ONE example, and their are hundreds more. It would not surprise me if they took a die grinder to the statue of the Marines raising the flag on Mount Surabachi and changed the faces to be more "politically correct" with maybe a Hindu, a Chinese, and sure, why not...a Japanese represented instead of [shudder] them thar WHITE BOYS. But don't get me started./wwwthreads_images/icons/blush.gif/wwwthreads_images/icons/crazy.gif

CJDave is right on the money again.

FOX - TV is taking a poll, on line and via phone, on this very subject..
Howie Carr on radio is doing the same thing.

Phone calls to your elected Representatives and Senators will get action. Mine are already notified,
Are yours? Their phone numbers are in the front of your phone book, use the local numbers, they get more action.

Hey CJdave, did you know the Iwo Jima flag raising was a "re-enactment" of the original? Yep it was... just a tid-bit of history...

I for one agree with CJDave. I'm pretty fed up with historical politcal correctness and the implications it has for this American and my decendents.

I know who they should put in there

If they are going to put different people in there how about:

Rev. Al Sharpton
Janet Reno
Yasir Arafat

They were all very helpful on 9/11 and should be comemorated. Anyone have any better suggestions?

the altering of the statue is closer to the ***** comparison than cjdave even realizes. they didnt shut down the entire sambos chain. they just changed it to Dennys. ( my wife worked at Dennys for years, so i know this is true ) kinda like they are doing with the statue. altering it so that in someones opinion, it doesn't offend. i find the altering offensive.

(right behind ya there Dave)
The thing that everyone of us has to realise is the we (cornfed Americans no matter what race) have got to get our heads out of "a dark smelly area" and stand up for ourselves. This stuff happens because we let it. I'm not going to get full blown into this because I type so ***** slow and it would take me a week to even begin to convay my feelings. All I can say is that I hope we all wake up someday and take charge of our country. We do own it.(if we really want to)
FORGET THE POLITICALLY CORRECT AND LETS DO THINGS CORRECT!!!

Has any of the black or hispanic communities spoke out about this? I cant imagine anyone with pride would sit and accept that. Okay, with alot of liberal tree hugging rationalizations maybe you could make it somewhat okay, but I know I couldnt accept credit and acknowledgment for a part in modern history knowing the truth first hand.

Kinda makes it hard to teach kids right from wrong when all they see is wrong things being done for the "right reasons". I pride myself on telling my kids the truth, and having them learn that politically correct does not make it correct!

This really up sets me, can you imagine the up roar if this situation were reversed say if it were blacks and hispanics in the picture and some one wanted to replace them with anglos. It would cause protests and maybe even worse.

Take care of the pennies and the dollars will take care of themselves.

I can't even begin to display my anger. It really troubles me that this is actually going to happen. I pretty much agree with everyone else here. I for one choose not to stand on the sidelines and take political correctness in the rear like everyone else. We all have a say in our country, do we not? You can't change history. there were three white men at that flag, I didn't see any mexicans, or blacks, or arabs.. I can't imagine what those fireman that were there think about this. I won't go farther into it here, but i am very upset

If they wanted to change it to reflect the Heroes that died that day, why not a Fireman, a cop, and a businessman/woman.

That is more in like than making a big deal about ethnicity.

Otherwise, color them all Red, White and Blue, that is the color of heroes.

They should leave it the way it should be. That picture isnt just about THOSE firemen. It is a representation of all the heroes in the united states, black, white, hispanic, whatever.... Its too bad people can't figure that out.

I hate political correctness. It's destroying the nation and is actually serving to help keep the various races from playing nice with eachother.

In this case, the photo the image was based on was those three white firemen. It's history that they were 3 white firemen and they should be portrayed like that because that's how it was.

Now if someone wanted to go along and make a tribute to the entire FD, PD, and businessmen/women then I'd strongly approve of that. But portary this event in history as it occurred. With the 3 people who were conscious enough and thinking this way and took the moment out to display their patriotism in that manner being depicted just as they are in real life... /wwwthreads_images/icons/crazy.gif

Let's show things how they were, not how someone might want them to be, because the events depicted are in the past, and there's no way to change it.

Might as well add some asians and some Italians, Russians, etc, etc, etc to the statue too if they want the events depicted that far from what originally happened anyhow.

What's ticking me off the most now is how the people are whining about how the prisoners at our base in Cuba are being treated. Well let's think, they want to kill Americans, they're not American citizens (and shouldn't have any rights under our Constitution which is there to protect citizens), they shouldn't even have any Geneva convention rights since they weren't clearly identified in uniforms and as combattants... /wwwthreads_images/icons/mad.gif Stupid liberals always worried about 'those poor bad people, they don't know any better you're being mean to them even though they hate us'... /wwwthreads_images/icons/mad.gif Ridiculous BS. Sorry for the rant guys...

If this thing actually does happen...and they take it upon themselves to CHANGE HISTORY to suit "political bull****" then I say we ought to organize some sort of protest...like that sharpton guy always does...let have a "Million Jeep March" or something like that.....Regardless of what happens...I KNOW WHAT REALLY HAPPENED, and if i do have children, they too, will know the truth.

On a side note...i remember a song that went "History books are written by liars, who dont often let you know the truth, If they dont want you to find out about something, the keep the facts from you...."

How true, how true...

Just thought I would let you know I heard on the news they are taking the statue down because of a protest of firefighters. I saw some interviews from firefighters including blacks and hispanics who were also outraged about the thing. The thing I heard them all say is that since it was a taken after a real photo there was no reason to change it. Also as a side note (and I yes I do know there are some stereotypical differences which I guess they added) but since the statue was made of bronze would everyone be the same color anyways? I agree it was 100% ridiculous and apparently everyone else agrees.

I really dont care about monuments or whatever at the present time.Right now there are people out there that are planning more attacks. They wanna kill us for whatever reasons.I believe we should worry about the things that will make us stronger as a nation, and safer as a country.

My jeep may be ugly to some. But she's a beauty in my eyes.
